July is Disability Pride Month - a time to celebrate the achievements, contributions, and resilience of disabled people, while recognising the importance of building a society that is accessible, inclusive, and free from barriers 🧡

Great to speak with Electrify Britain and Styles Ice Cream about their solar powered ice cream van and how electrification and renewable energy can help lower energy bills for small businesses. We've got a similar van in North East Fife who do fantastic ice cream - Scooply 🍦
Today I raised the case of a Ukrainian family in my constituency who are trying to go home, but are unable to access their own savings in order to do so. I was glad to hear that the Minister will assist however he can.
Lovely to catch up with Colin from the Fife Chamber of Commerce, as well as meet Pastor Marshall and Fr Rev Gerry Dillon at The National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast. Great to be joined by @richardbakermp.bsky.social too.
Great to meet with the team at the National Oceanography Centre and hear about the innovative ocean science helping to build climate resilience, support offshore industries, and create jobs in coastal communities.
Great to meet with the @royalosteosoc.bsky.social and APPG on Osteoporosis and Bone Health to discuss improving early diagnosis and preventing fractures. Osteoporosis affects over 6000 people in North East Fife and is often only diagnosed after a fracture. Awareness and early action can save lives.
The East Neuk Cancer Support Club will be meeting monthly, with their first meeting on the 6th of August at Kilrenny Kirk Hall. More details below 👇️
Great meeting with Katie and Chloe from @bluecrossuk.bsky.social yesterday to discuss responsible dog ownership. I know that this has been an issue in some North East Fife villages, and I was pleased to hear that Police Scotland have assembled a specialist Dangerous Dogs Unit to tackle this.
Yesterday, I raised how too few people have received compensation for the Infected Blood Scandal and that we must ensure that everyone impacted is compensated. If you have been impacted, you can find out what you're owed here: ibca.org.uk
It was a pleasure to meet Leonardo Dhinsa at the University of St Andrews graduation yesterday. Congratulations to Leonardo on receiving the Principal’s Medal, which recognises not only his outstanding academic achievements but also his dedication as an unpaid carer for his late grandmother 🧡

As we reach the end of June, here is a summary of the casework my team and I have done this month - as well as some of the topics mentioned the most to us.
Safe maternity care should never depend on your postcode. Today's report is a reminder that we must do better for women, babies and families across the UK. Change is overdue 🧡
It was a privilege to mark Armed Forces Day in Dundee with Nick Bailey of Guardbridge, Standard Bearer for the RAFA Leuchars and Angus Branch, recognising the dedication and service of our Armed Forces community.
Great to meet the Royal Bank of Scotland Mobile Team at the Ceres Highland Games as part of their trial to see if they would attract footfall at events. We discussed the current mobile banking timetable & access to banking services more broadly, including the Gov's consultation: buff.ly/DVcimCz
Lovely to meet John Park of Poster Creative this weekend. His fantastic illustrations of the Azuma train have been used by LNER - and I was delighted to purchase some of his prints to add to my wall!
Great to be at the Ceres Highland Games on Saturday - the oldest in the world and still going strong! Fantastic atmosphere and lovely to meet with President Tom Wilson, Hon President Grant Robertson, and Cllr John Caffrey.
In a five-minute walk around Westminster, I passed five different banking services. In North East Fife, we’re down to just two banks. Access to banking is vital for our communities. Have your say in the Gov’s review and help make the case for better banking access: www.gov.uk/government/c...
Today on BBC Politics Scotland, we discussed Keir Starmer's resignation, Labour's direction under Andy Burnham, and the public’s growing frustration with broken promises.
Yesterday I presented a Bill to remove outdated caps on charity lottery sales after my previous Bill ran out of time last Parliament. These limits hold back millions for good causes. It’s time to lift them and back our charities.
Had a fantastic time at the Summer Fayre at the Hub in St Andrews on Saturday. A great community atmosphere and also a fundraiser to re-launch the Hub and improve the space.
Great to attend the screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing film at The Larick Centre on Sunday. The film highlights the threats to British life from the ongoing damage to our climate. You can search for a screening near you here: www.nebriefing.org/screening-map
On Saturday, I ran a 10K in support of the Jo Cox Foundation, marking 10 years since Jo’s death and celebrating her message that we have far more in common than that which divides us 🧡 An important reminder of the power of community, kindness and coming together here in North East Fife.
Lovely to be at Balmullo Gala Day on Saturday - a brilliant celebration of community spirit with something for everyone. Great to see so many people out enjoying the day 🌞

This week is Injury Awareness Week reminding us that behind every statistic is a real person, a family, and a community affected. With over 430,000 people injured by negligence each year in the UK, it’s vital we focus not just on the cost, but the human impact. @apiluk.bsky.social #IAWeek2006
