An icy view of the River Raisin in Monroe, Michigan, as seen this afternoon. This is the same location where an ice jam caused flooding in neighboring streets about four years ago.
Many years ago, I worked at a local newspaper in Ohio while my husband worked at the local radio station. Our joke during severe winter weather was, “We go to work to tell everyone else to stay home.” I just updated the school closing list that’s posted at @cbsdetroit. 😆 #MichiganWinter

The grandkids, my daughter and I spent our afternoon at The Henry Ford Museum. I had never been there before. The exhibit I most wanted to see was the city bus that Rosa Parks rode in. The kids have a story book at home about Rosa Parks; my daughter will read it to them this week.

Saturday morning project: making Toll House cookies for my family. Yes this was an intentional, planned egg purchase this week. I will make more cookies before the carton date is up. The eggs were $4.99 for a dozen store brand at Meijer in Monroe, Michigan.
