From the @theathletic.com Where as the US administration aligns best with Chaotic Evil, I wonder if FIFA is more Lawful Evil. They know exactly what they’re doing here and they do it with intention. Outside of this particular case, that’s the sense I get from FIFA.
This is a better view. Switzerland, their 4 most likely opponents, Canada, and South Africa. If you had to pick one team to face…
Switzerland’s 4 most likely opponents… and Canada. By the way, the 5th and 6th most likely opponents for the Swiss? Belgium and Senegal.
Swiss were defending so he’d expect them to flatline a bit. Canada got a few quality chances though. The game was there to be tied.
Home. What a 48 hour whirlwind! World Cup, home soil, home team, huge win. Not going to be able to recreate that experience ever. Not sure how it came across on TV, but it was non-stop cheering and chants from 2 hours pre-game to a half hour post-game. Sat for maybe 15 minutes between 1 & 5:30PM.
“Look kids, I’m just going to get the job done and go home so I can mow the lawn before it’s dark.”
France slept in and needed an espresso before they started work. ‘Then’ they started playing.
Maybe not even that? This was the graphic right before the winning goal was scored. No shots on net in over a period of play.
The Oilers are probably (probably!) going to pull off the win here but they still can’t play a full 60 minutes. They’ve mostly stopped getting chances since late in the first and especially since that 4th goal. Probably good enough tonight.
Helps to not get worried when they don’t get a single shot attempt from the front.
