I remember Leicester in the 1980's when the bus company was called "Midland Fox". Thankfully, their buses didn't make fox noises.

If you think English counties are crazy, Scotland says "hold my beer". My favourite is Cromartyshire - all 23 pieces of it.

Cromartyshire (Scottish Gaelic: Siorrachd Chromba) was a county in the Highlands of Scotland, comprising the medieval "old shire" around the county town of Cromarty and 22 enclaves and exclaves transferred from Ross-shire in the late 17th century. The largest part, six times the size of the old shire, was Coigach, containing Ullapool and the area north-west of it. In 1889, Cromartyshire was merged with Ross-shire to become a new county called Ross and Cromarty, which in 1975 was merged into the new council area of Highland.

At Todmorden, I caught the train once more, this time as far as Mytholmroyd, which proved to be a little gem of a place. I didn't visit the clog factory, instead opting for the wonderful Blue Teapot café

Display an album that was important to you when you were nineteen

The album cover for the Fine Young Cannibals' album "The Raw and the Cooked".

The cover is terrible, even by the standards of the time, with the most prominent feature being the letters "FYC" in a pink block font. A fuzzy black and white photograph, or possibly photo montage, of the band is squeezed underneath. There is a background that appears to be rejected misshapes of alphabetti spaghetti.

The cover gives no hint as to the brilliance of the music.
