Now we’re at the Q&A with David Ward before the screening of Major League the film. Steve Yeager the former Dodgers catcher was the baseball consultant and he ran a two week training camp to get the actors into baseball shape.

Now Bob DiBiasio of the Guardians is introducing the winner of this year’s Roland Hemond Award, and talking about how proud Cleveland has been to serve a role in SABR’s history. (SABR’s main office was here in Cleveland from the 90s through 2011.)

The rumors are true! Next year’s SABR convention will be in Birmingham, Alabama! This means if MLB happens to be shut down for a work stoppage it won’t affect conference activities. (Rickwood Field is on my bucket list!)

Okay, it's not just writers getting inundated by AI-generated fake emails offering services. Check this one out I just got at my SABR email from a supposed HVAC service company offering to check out the systems at Shibe Park. (The last game at Shibe was in 1970 and the park was demolished in 1976.)

The wild part is that I just checked the e-proof and the print edition looks fine. Somehow it's only the version I made for ebook distribution. So it happened during *compression* of the PDF, not the creation. And strangely, it's not *all* the text of that style, only certain examples.
