It's been over 500 days since Federal Liberals announced that the Pickering Lands would be transferred to Rouge National Urban Park. But now that promise is at risk. Sprawl advocates are pushing for development on the Transport Canada Pickering Lands.

ON’s entire mining workforce is ~150,000 people. This claim suggests one region, which currently does not have one operating mine, could generate nearly half that total. It’s a reckless, unsubstantiated claim & it has no clear basis in proven economic feasibility. It’s more hype.

Are we being played? ⚾️ Here’s the next claim, pulled directly from the province’s Ring of Fire advertising: Developing the Ring of Fire will create 70,000 jobs.

To get anywhere near that number, the region would need to support roughly 40 operating mines. Right now, there isn’t even one. The Ring of Fire is in the exploration phase, with no active mines and no feasibility studies demonstrating proven mineral reserves.
