I'm a local emerging artist with a studio in Newtown, a mother of two (now teenage) boys and a constituent. This painting is very personal to me, it's a portrait of my son Elton at the age of two. He is on the beach while on a family holiday near Bundeena. Even though you plan to give me and my family three new coal projects along with the many other fossil fuel green lights I would like to remind you that by doing these things you are harming future generations and alienating your voters. I was appalled by your scuttling of the recent 'nature laws', choosing to side with habitat destroying vested interests. What we need now is a brave and strong leader who is here for the people not corporate interests. You can do one of three things with the painting — throw it away, store it away hidden from view or hang it as a reminder of your responsibilities …

Australian Telcos are basically using the 3G shutdown to sell new phones. There is no reason why phones that can make 4G/5G calls now will not be able to when the 3G network is gone. The basis for identifying 'incompatible' phones is a skimpy set of IMEI model codes that are known to work.
