discussed this topic many months ago and my friend came up with the most perfect description for arsays I instantly adopted it into her canon

from arsay, whether it's the phoenix's flames or a res, it feels like getting nudged a bunch by an affectionate animal. she [friend
s wol] thinks of it as being couscous even though it obviously can't be because couscous has literally been in her line of sight across the battlefield while it's happened

Since I’m addicted to explaining myself and adding context here have the arc

the series of events go as follows:
-endwalker patches, graharshtola have been a thing for a like a year at this point, living together for months and it’s clear that this thing they had was serious.
- arsay would joke around and call y’shtola her wife with tataru sometimes
-just before going into the void the first time in 6.2 arsay finds the other half to the pair of matching bracelets she bought while showing y’shtola around kugane in the stormblood patches (happen on the way when shtola decides to go to doma for a bit) while packing
- arsay bring y’shtola back to Kugane from Radz and gives her the bracelet and confesses how she didn’t have the courage to give it back then but does now. And also tells y’shtola how much she loves her, how important she’s always been to her, how she’ll do anything to stay by her side for as long as she lives. Beyond saying “will you marry me” it’s basically a proposal tbh. And given Arsay’s round about ways of asking for things that she wants y’shtola did kinda interpret it as such. She accepts the bracelet and Arsay’s many promises with it.

Zoom through to patch 6.4 and shtola is off figuring out how to do the aether transfer stuff and kinda doesn’t tell arsay much about where she’s at and doesn’t call for like two weeks and Arsay’s doing her best to not freak out about it cause of course she trust y’shtola to call when she’s ready and arsay doesn’t want to be a bother or a burden… but with nothing to do but help G’raha and Krile clean up the annex she’s loosing herself to MMWS (missing my wife syndrome). And she caves in and eventually says out loud in front of G’raha “I miss my wife!!” <- ment to say y’shtola but the habit she build with tataru crept its way in to her vocab.
-G’raha is kinda shocked to hear arsay use that term for y’shtola but it also affirms his feelings and in a little moment of boldness asks Arsay if she could be his. He wants to be her husband!! He wants to be married to her!

Arsay is flabbergasted by this but after some back and forth she of course says yes
-Yshtola eventually comes back from the ironworks r&d lab. G’raha and Arsay tell yshtola that they want to start using these terms for each other and Arsay asks Shtola properly “will you marry me” and Yshtola shoots her a confused look, realizes that moment in Kugane was not what she thought it was, she lets out a bit of a laugh and accepts. “This poor heart is already yours, dear”
-Y’shtola then turns to G’raha with a sly smile: “I suppose it’s up to me to close this little proposal loop you’ve begun now, isn’t it? I’ve no ring to speak of but I could get down on one knee” G’raha, blushing and frantically waving his hands about: “That-That’s really not necessary” “Hm. If you say so.” Y’shtola and arsay snicker.
-so they consider themselves as married going into dawntrail. G’raha gets that sun earring made for Arsay because it felt like the right thing to do.

Meanwhile Arsay worked with tataru to make marriage bands for them all to share and those got snuck in with shtola and rahas luggage when they came to tural. Arsay gave them the rings right after the main msq of dawntrail finished up and they proceeded to do a two week honeymoon. All because arsay made an I miss my wife joke out loud and not in her head.

I tried it on arsay and i think the distortion around the neck is enough that I wonder if this is just a case of anam/brio/glamourer trying to auto fit a male only top to females as it does some times? idk I never tried to put it on arsay or anyone before so idk how this top reacted on other charas
