In 2006, researchers tracked Wolverine M1 "Big Daddy" and ovserved he was regularly taking this route through Iceberg Notch, Montana. ~M1 was scaling 1500 vertical feet in roughly 20 minutes, even in blizzard conditions.

While it's very hard to see, Wolverines actually have horizontal pupils! This gives us a slightly wider field of view and keeps the ground in focus, aiding in things like situational awareness and navigation of uneven terrain!
When your fur insulates this well, snow becomes furniture
Wolverine mamas do most of the work raising the kits. Dads still help! But they sometimes have two or even three families they travel between, taking time to help each one. Those with only one family tend to pull a lot more weight with the kits, however.

Wolverine kits are born between Feb-March when deep snow is abundant. In some cases, these snow dens can have branching networks of tunnels up to 60m in total length, with multiple rooms used for different purposes like food storage or bathrooms! Check out wolverinefoundation.org/denning for more!
