WSL sides Man Utd, Aston Villa and Everton among United's six regional opponents for the league phase of the new Players Cup. Three extra home games for the calendar, with the WSL2 opponents to be played on weekends.

WSL2 fixtures are out! United kick off with a home game against Leicester City, who were relegated from the WSL last season.

Grace Foy has left United for Halifax Town of the National League Division One north. The 21 year old striker made a handful of second tier appearances for the Blades over the last few seasons but suffered a bad injury last year. Good luck Grace!

The Blades beat Hull City of the National League 4-1 in a friendly earlier today, with goals from Amy Andrews (penalty), Isla Phillips, Emmie King and a trialist. It was another mix of senior and PGA players for United, but a first appearance for Connie Scofield and Tilly Bristow since injury.

United have signed former Ireland international Lucy Quinn on a one-year deal. The 32-year-old forward won WSL2 with Birmingham City last year and is the Blades' 5th signing of the summer. (Reposting with the correct photo 🤦‍♂️)

New signings Chloe Warrington and Maria Reynolds are in from the start, along with two trialists. It looks like there'll be a different XI for each half.

Soccerdonna reporting that United have signed centre back Maria Reynolds for the highest fee paid for an Irish League player.

Another new face at Bramall Lane as defender Gracie Pearse signs a 2-year deal. Pearse was part of the Charlton side that won promotion from WSL2 last season, and has another second-tier promotion on her CV from a loan spell at Bristol City in 2023.

United have announced the signing of goalkeeper Poppy Soper from Rugby Borough on a one year deal with the option of a further year. 24-year-old Soper was initially part of the Wales squad at Euro 2025 before injury ruled her out of the tournament.

Still no released / retained list from United, for anyone wondering. The transfer window opens June 18th so I would certainly anticipate hearing by then. Different circumstances last summer as the club was relegated then reinstated, but FWIW the 2025 retained list wasn't published until July 4th.

United's PGA defender Lottie Day announces she's leaving the Blades this summer. Day, who made her senior debut earlier this season, was part of the England U17 squad at this month's Euros. Good luck Lottie!

Game day for United Women, with a trip to Birmingham City for a 2pm KO. Birmingham are 2nd in WSL2 and are likely smarting from a midweek loss to Newcastle that's heaped some pressure on them in the race for that second promotion spot. The Blades will be without the suspended Charlie Devlin.
