Someone of indeterminate politics just trying to figure everything out. Also #houwx, photography, and whatever else. 🌩️👀 5AovysVBpMM3
Meanwhile, I got this out of Gemini. It appears to be correct. It certainly passes the smell test based on my, admittedly limited, knowledge of African geography plus comparing it with a map. 1/2
In the case of Brewster County, it is theoretically about money, since a wall will kill the tourism industry. Sadly, I only saw one @teamtalaricohq.bsky.social sign out there earlier this month.
It had been a minute since I'd thought of "'Allo 'Allo", but that scene in The Court Jester was clearly the inspiration for a bit in "'Allo 'Allo."
We spent Independence Day enjoying our birthright as Americans: one of our national parks. This is Big Bend National Park in far southwest Texas. It is a place of rugged beauty and unique geology. It is also a place under assault.
This is a very unusual location for an #earthquake (3.5ml). I pulled up recent seismicity from #USGS and found nothing. The only geologic structure of significance I know of in the area is a buried impact structure. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marquez...)
I didn't know what to expect here, but this wasn't it. I did answer "neutral" on a lot of things, which makes sense given that I've been re-evaluating everything for the last few years. I wonder what the me of 2-3 years ago would have been. findmypolitics.com?e=3&so=-56&c...
They're still going to pave roads, and it will probably be just as destructive. I would like to introduce our government to a new invention called a Jeep, seen here in Big Bend.
There is a chunk of the American population who can't put two and two together. I've chosen the most recent example (ignoring Rasmussen) on RCP, but other polls show this too. How do you approve of Donald but think the country is going in the wrong direction?
Shit. Solid waste aboard space station. Can be handled in one of two ways. -- Jinx
Kinda jealous of these people on Norwegian Gem tonight. Back in January, we were on a cruise out in the Gulf and were just within range to see a SpaceX launch. Not so close as to see liftoff, but I think we saw a stage separation. It drew the geek out in me, even though, you know, Musk. #ArtemisII
At a glance, I thought I was looking at the Davis Mountains room the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute outside Fort Davis, TX. My pic is from the summer, so it was green.
I can't figure out why they did it. The electric unlock is on the door, so it's not got anything to do with being able to remove the doors. This is my first Jeep. I did buy it to do Jeep things. It did take some getting used to. (The alt text here conveys important information.)
Cyclic supercell with a history of large tornadoes moving into Lubbock.
Crazy. Lots of rain this morning, but we're under a Red Flag Warning.
