Too hot to sit in front of a computer today, so gone cycling instead
Managed to salvage a few spuds and pointed cabbage from the caterpillar attack in the mixed beds. (old punks never die, they just get veg gardens)
Recent re-visit to Slane Castle (a Neo-Gothic Georgian house) on the banks of the river Boyne
Cleared another patch of the veg garden, onions are disappointing (soil too compact), but some nice baby potatoes for supper (where do I get one of those peppered steak trees?)
Having moaned about the rain for 6 months, it's now too hot to work in the veg garden ... oh the irony (like goldy and bronzey, but made of iron)

5 Years, 3 Novels, 230,000 words, finally the Fyre & Stone series is complete. Editing starts asap on book 3.
Coolbanagher, Church, Co. Laois. Early Church/Monastic site, dating back to the c.9th Century. Featuring Romanesque arches and surrounded by C.18 graves. A nearby castle of the same name was demolished recently, many locals believe it could have been saved.
