DIE: Loaded #7. I managed to read it on my shitty replacement tablet, and frustrating as it was I didn't expect gut punch feels which is weird because this is not my first DIE rodeo. Not just because as I get old I worry a bit about those little short-lived gaps in my memory. Not just that.
#ttrpg ill-gotten gains arrived. I don't have many new physical books these days but this one is shiny!
Good God! Today I learned there are *thirty-fucken-three* Wild Cards novels and the last one was published *last year* This is like that time I found out how many albums Counting Crows had all over again.
The dice rolls continued to be pretty dreadful, leading to the goblin fighter spending ten minutes trying to walk through a wall due to a very bad CON check while drinking psychedelic algae pop. I also resisted the urge to do an awful Geordie-chav accent for the halflings so its not all bad.
Thank you @skelicopter.bsky.social and @failbettergames.com for an Exceptional Story that took me places I was not expecting to go from where it seemed to be starting. Double thumbs up.

My #ttrpg manifesto 1) You have to have a dice and it has to be a d6 or a d12. Or cards maybe? Or words in a jar? 2) The game has to have a worm with tentacles that paralyse you in it. Doesn't matter what genre. 3) There must be rules for being a big guy who's nice 4) All armour rules are wrong
In a field doing desperate last minute writing. My top class mate @swishashbob.bsky.social has given me his DELVE deck from the last @rowanrookanddecard.bsky.social crowdfund (I backed PDF) and now I have both a steady stream of inspiration and a sense at least one bud wants me to run HEART again.
This scales recommendation is the kind of weight-loss journey support my friends think is appropriate.

5) DUSKVOL AND ILRIENE (FitD) A two-fer at the end here. The cities of Blades in the Dark and Court of Blades #ttrpg are different but similar. They're *roleplaying* cities with broad overviews full of hooks and details, but best of all *things to do*. Also canals. I'm including Blades'68 too.
4) LANKHMAR (EREWHON) There's a pattern with my favourite cities in that they are all arguably Lankhmar. Fritz Leiber made it up for his Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser books. It was the first fantasy #ttrpg city I really explored in any detail. Corrupt, grimy, and also full of dangerously clever rats.
3) LONDON (UK) As madey-uppy a city as you might ever find and a regular character in #ttrpg and fantasy literature alike. I don't entirely believe it is a real place despite having visited several times. Definitely a points-crawl. All sorts of cool stuff and also wizards, rats, and Drownies.
2) ANKH MORPORK (Discworld) It's the #Pratchett city and it is built on a foundation of the cities that went before. It has the River Ankh; the Guilds, the Thieves' Guild in particular; Vimes and the Patrician; Unseen Academy; trolls and dwarfs and Nobby Nobs.
1) PORT BLACKSAND (Allansia) First appearing in City of Thieves, Port Blacksand has lived rent free in my head ever since. The old Advanced Fighting Fantasy book BLACKSAND! is one of the best city guides in #ttrpg. It has everything. Thieves! Fishmen! Shitpipe adventures! Nicodemus! Baron Azzur!
