1969 Directory of Canadian Map Collections is fascinating. A very detailed survey providing a glimpse of the printed map collection landscape (academic/gov.) that was taking off with growing enrollment & gov. depository programs. Many lib. positions vacant. Includes Questionnaire. Not scanned - yet.

The first Directory of Canadian Map Collections was printed in 1969 and consisted of 87 collections, costing $1.00 for members and $2.00 to non-members.

Published in 1969 by the Association of Canadian Map Libraries/ Association Des Cartotheques Cabadiennes

This directory lists some 87 map collections in Canada. Despite the large number, the compilers consider it somewhat preliminary because of the difficulty of defining map collection in the sense of map 11brary. There are many 'sources' of maps such as government departments who although allowing people to see their maps on the premises consider themselves mainly sales outlets. The next edition of this directory may therefore be a much more comprehensive guide to 'map sources' in Canada. However members of the Association of Canadian Map Libraries (formed in 1967) felt that it was important to have a directory of the main collections as soon as possible.
The information in the entries is valid to early 1968.
The directory is arranged by province and then by city, with institutions arranged alphabetically by underlined name within that.
It is hoped that the entries are as explicit as possible but users are advised to consult the copy of the questionnaire when in doubt.
Items omitted from entries received a negative answer or were not answered at all.

This raster file was created as a result of a 2013 to 2016 study done for the Edmonton area to determine the vulnerable areas of Edmonton in regards to a 1 in 100 year rainfall event.

Due to the constant changing of subsurface infrastructure (adding, upgrading, etc.) combined with the constant changing definition of a 1 in 100 year rainfall event (based on historic rainfall amounts), this raster file reflects the results of a study done in 2016 and should neither suggest previous year’s vulnerabilities nor future year’s vulnerabilities.

There are four different colours to show the depth of water that might pool on the ground during a large rainstorm.

Those colours are:

Green (representing a ponding depth from 0.00 - 0.35 m)
Yellow (representing a ponding depth from 0.35 - 0.50 m)
Orange (representing a ponding depth from 0.50 to 0.75 m)
Red (representing a ponding depth greater than 0.75 m)
