7 out of 13. There are so many to add. However, off of the top of my head I’d add:
I’ve always loved that photo. First saw it on BBC Earth on Instagram back in 2020.
Bench: He was basically telling the players who he wouldn’t put in the game that their job was to stay on the bench and hold it steady while the others played. He’d also say focus & watch. He’d eventually give the 2nd string players some time on the field if the team was way ahead in home runs.
What’s funny is I’m one of those people who work at being extroverted so much so that many people who don’t know me well think that I am, or they think I’m moody. Nope! I’m introverted. I need my little nest, quiet time, alone time, time 2 make sure I’m alright w/the world & that it’s alright w/me.
Owsley County’s poverty rates rival some of the poorest Black communities in the South, yet voters con’t 2 support politicians who campaign against expanding the social safety net, which many rely on. The contrast is evident: economic difficulties doesn’t always determine voters’ political choices.
You know . . . that photo reminded me of one of my favorite television shows as a kid, Space Giants. Japanese show w/English dub. The son’s name was Gam. Anyway, I loved that show but it too was fake—just like the bullshit they believe. I outgrew my fascination. Them? IDK.
I am by no means an artist. Even my stick figures look at me and go “b*tch, really”. 👀😂🤣 However, what helped me 2 get over the need 4 perfection was my grown azz reading the book Ish to a group of 1st graders. The lesson there was beautiful creativity over paralyzing perfection. Who knew? 🤷🏽♀️
Yep! I remember that like it was yesterday. Brought to you by the same people who tolerated this bullshit. Behind the American seal no less.
Also, in the south, where most African Americans live (see map), there is the constant battle of voter suppression & the various illiberal tactics used to all but disenfranchise African American voters.
. . . it doesn’t matter that 8% of black female voters either voted for DJT or 3rd party and/or that black male voters did the same. White people, white voters, as the largest voting demographic fucked America in November 2024 with a strong assist by Latino voters. Concentrate on that.
The U.S. House of Representatives voted 224-198 to censure Rep. Al Green, D-Houston, for disrupting President Donald Trump’s joint address 2 Congress. Ten Democrats . . . voted to censure Green. (Source: TX Tribune, March 2025) ***black man = rowdy, uncouth, ghetto🙄
That’s an aspect of it. Conservative 👩🦳 believe the patriarchy protects them. They feel they gain when the patriarchy is strong. That anchors the embedded sexism but that’s not the full reason they’re there. Racism + 👩🦱🧔 supremacy r the binding force. 👱♀️👱♂️ share that equally. Sexism is a close 2nd.
