Hey #portfolioday! 🎨 I’m Yara Abril, Illustrator and Concept artist from Barcelona 🌟 I love witchy themes, colors and painting in gouache 🌙 Open to do more Book and game illustrations 💜
I also wanted to push the composition a bit further, aiming for a sense of movement and energy while maintaining an overall balance and symmetry. It was a great challenge, but I feel this personal piece has given me a clearer direction with my art.
In the making of a new painting, this one feels a bit different than the previous. Not sure why, but in any case, enjoying the ride ✨ Here are a couple close ups that I liked, and the last one is a spoiler for the color palette of the piece (the color palette is “YES” （╹◡╹）)

Day 20 to 30! Honestly, in those days, I felt a bigger improvement. -More time drawing helps. -Better grasp of volume - Bigger canvas?(paper) works better for me. - Magenta is great. - Better control of the thickness of paint -Focus on fewer brush strokes+more intentional instead of fixing. ✨⭐✨

"Momentary Alliance" 31x41cm. Gouache on paper For my personal project ✨ I'm quite happy with this piece! The biggest one so far, ambitious colors and scene, depicting two opposite sides working together. It was fun to represent their magic, similar but so opposite in color, shape and flow.

Fire pact 🎨 - Gouache on paper. Doing personal art with traditional media has been so freeing. This piece was such a challenge, the bold saturated colors, blazing fire, magic 🔥 But I had so much fun creating it, specially happy with the blues and pinks 😭💕
Last Friday we played CBR+PNK. I was playing as Kimchi❤️ 🦾 merc at day, with the Paralla-xx band at night 💚🩷 Had so much fun in procreate, I had to try all the filters 😂
I have been sick for over a week. I hate those sudden stops, time keeps passing by and I feel like loosing my abilities. Feeling better now, so I did this frame study to warm up ✨🦾 I’m not gonna lie, it was hard, hopefully next one will go better 🙈
