Not only that, but Rian would’ve said “a chip is chip” not caring one bit that it was the consolation bracket. In the end, it made everything feel just right. Thanks to all of our family & friends that came to watch, cheer us on, and share one of the greatest weekends. Much love!
So we changed our name to “For Rian & Brian”, fought back from losing to free throw merchants that ruin the spirit of Hoopfest (double digit FT’s per game), and went on to win a championship of our own. Which to my surprise was Star Wars themed, Brian was a major Star Wars fan.
❤️🔥 🏀❣️ For the first time in decades, we didn’t play as South Basketball, win a game on Saturday, or hear from Rian or Brian wishing us good luck. That’s because they both passed away this year, to the shock and devastation of many, brothers of mine for the past 32 and 23 years.
