Not sure how similar it is, but I've also had vivid images popping into my head before? It hasn't happened since I was a kid, though. I also uhhh may have accidentally written a whole essay on it 😅

When I was a kid, I would sometimes get these vivid images in my vision, most prominently when I was about to sleep or if I woke up in the middle of the night. It would also happen when I was wide awake and just closed my eyes fairly regularly. Sometimes it was random, and sometimes it was influenced by if I was thinking really hard about something. When I was 4, I woke up crying my eyes out in the middle of the night because there was this 8-bit purple outline of a queen bee floating around and zooming towards me/disappearing in my vision and toddler me thought it was gonna sting me 😭

When Slender came out (I was in middle school atp), I thought it would be a good idea to watch some YouTube videos but got terrified of lanky suit man and was living in fear for a bit because at that point, I knew that even if I was closing my eyes when I was showering, there was a chance that the image would pop up super vividly and I would not have a good time 🥲 It's a big part of why I never got into consuming horror/thrillers on my own. I didn't mind getting scared. It was the prospect of having that stuff uncontrollably stuck in my vision for god knows how long.

Since maybe halfway through high school, I haven't really had it happen. I had sleep paralysis twice in high school and saw the shadow man hovering above me, but that's about it.
