But the winner - by a long shot - is this. The St Bernardus Tripel 0.0 - what a good #afbeer this is. It appears that the brewery have brewed it themselves and taken their time over it. It’s good. The sweetness and depth of a triple, a little floral. Big fan. It’s a job well done.

Third was the Verzet Caravan Sultan and I’ve had another af by Verzet before and it was GREAT so I had high hopes but this was very watery and bland. It quenched my thirst, that was about it. Meh. #afbeer

Second up was the Tripel Karmeleit which was… ok, not terrible. It lacked the sweetness I’d expect and was quite bready but it’s alright. Could be worse! #afbeer

Verdict time for the newest additions to the Belgian beer alcohol free selection! First up was the Hommelbier. Genuinely terrible. Nothing resembling the original beer. A huge wasted opportunity. Don’t bother.

Belgium keeping their alcohol free beer game VERY strong with these recent additions. I’ll report back but I yelped in delight when I spotted the old St Bernardus Monk 🤣 - also, the other AF Verzet beers I have tried have been knockout so fingers crossed. #afbeer #beer

First time trying De Ranke’s Amer Amer ipa - it’s very good. I’ve heard it’s superb on draft but the bottle will have to do for now. Hoppy and refreshing. #beer #belgianbeer

One of the things I love about my annual January visit to bruges is seeing the widening selection of #afbeer that’s available - always something new. I picked up a few to bring home and try at my leisure. It’s a big time growing market and that’s a good thing.

In #bruges - I don’t think I could ever not love this city.

Nathan outside Lowlands in Bristol a couple of Saturdays ago. Love this store and the fantastic selection of #midcenturymodern furniture in their back room. Would buy it all up if I could.

Another cracking evening in Farringdon’s Dovetail where they had St Fueillien’s Cuvée Noel on draft. Finished there on a St Bernardus Abt 12 before heading six mins away to Sam Smith’s Rising Sun and enjoying a pint of the extra stout. Superb. And, a beautiful pub. #beer

For the beer fans among you. Excellent evening at the Dovetail in Farringdon last Saturday. Great service, brilliant selection. Hadn’t been back since Covid so great to see it still going strong. #belgianbeer

This is Capitán Amargo in #granada - it is THE #craftbeer bar in this amazing Spanish city. The barman is lovely and the beer choice is great - he’s even got more beauties stashed away in the can fridge. If you love beer and visit Granada - come here. It will not disappoint.
