Sadly no, face data is only used for NPCs that use the same model as the player. However, there is something unusual in that the helmet model the player uses for the Artorias set has a hidden, partially sculpted face inside it, even though the actual Artorias model doesn't.
So I've still been playing Nightreign since it released over a year ago, and sometimes I find myself wondering like, what happens with Nightreign as a concept from here? It seems to have succeeded beyond their expectations, but what does that mean for it as an IP, or even just a gameplay formula?
They put out official names for every enemy and boss in Mina the Hollower and I think it's important you all know this one is Batbat. www.yachtclubgames.com/blog/mina-th...
Current plan is to stream a new game, Mina the Hollower, tomorrow at noon CST. I was interested knowing it was by the Shovel Knight devs, but even better, I found out it's apparently an homage to old GameBoy era Zelda titles, and those were some of my favorite games growing up.
I have to say, I did not expect to get so deeply moved by hearing Anastacia's dialogue again. It's maybe a bit unsurprising, but the story of a mute girl regaining her voice yet being so convinced of her inadequacy that she's still reluctant to speak for herself really struck a chord with me.
One thing I plan to get in the habit of doing before the Souls replay streams is to reread old interviews and articles. There were a few details I referenced during the Dark Souls stream that I second guessed myself on and had to fact check after, like mentioning this note about the Titanite Demon.
I've been planning to replace all the stream thumbnails with unique art, since looking at the live page of the channel looks pretty monotonous, so here's the first example of that, with the thumbnail layout I drew for the Demon's Souls stream series.
Got the Platinum for Pragmata. The harder difficulty is a lot of fun, because it prompts you to engage more with all the tools you're given, but the options are so effective that it wasn't that much harder for me. Still, really enjoyed the gameplay even on the second run. Overall a very solid title.
Update for the Pragmata stream viewers, I did get a perfect on Challenge 30 eventually. The time limit is actually a lot more generous than it seems at first.
Thank you, that's pretty much as direct as it could possibly get. It's fascinating to read Hirasawa's approach for the music as well, imparting so much feeling into the series but from seeming to weave only an impression of the world into the music.
Something I'm curious about with anime is how much say the manga author has in the audio direction. For example, Hirasawa Susumu's music for the 1997 Berserk adaptation has become foundational to the way many fans think of the series, but how much of it is Hirasawa's sensibilities or Miura's?
If they did the joke of a Ditto poorly transforming into a Zubat, should it keep the eyes or not?
Also unrelated, here's an interview with the adaptation's director that I don't think has any relevance to what I'm doing. variety.com/2026/tv/news...
Someone asked me if Genichiro's eyes are blue ingame and they seem mostly grey, though naturally the lighting of the scene is a factor.
Having finished Resident Evil Requiem on stream, I replayed it for some challenges (I did No healing/No crafting as Grace/Sub-four hours all at once) and I feel like, as much as I enjoyed the pacing during my first playthrough, it may be a bit rougher to replay compared to some like RE4 or RE8.
Finally managed to max out Deep of Night, playing with friends. Despite my initial uncertainty when it was announced, Nightreign has been a near constant pastime for me since its release, so I'm glad to have achieved this little milestone for it.
Now that I've completed Lies of P and the DLC, I have a brief clip prepared to summarize my feelings.
I was thinking about the (apparently debunked) notion that some dinosaurs may have had a brain in their hip area (owing to a hollow space which some had thought could contain a brain), and it made me think about the Undead Dragon legs being able to move on their own, as if they have their own brain.
With the remasters released (or about to release), there's probably not a bad way to go about it now. They're on modern consoles or PC, and should be much, much more stable than previous PC ports or emulation.
Also there's a 2D Sidescroller action game being released at the end of the month as well? Really not the direction I was expecting things to go in.
I hadn't watched the State of Play, so I only just now found out that the Legacy of Kain: Defiance remaster is coming out just next month on the 3rd. I had been expecting a longer wait, but also kind of expecting a Blood Omen 2 remaster along with it, so that makes sense.
This version of the art originally debuted in 7th edition, back in 2001.
Thinking about potential inspiration from MtG in the Souls series, I'm a bit curious if there's any connection with how the miracle Wrath of the Gods is a big circular explosion. Notably, though the localization is slightly different in English, the Japanese name for both is exactly the same, 神の怒り.
