This is what really gets me. Sure, there is an incredibly thin argument you can make for Song's 100-year sentence, but getting 30 years for having a box of cartoon zines in your car is actual insanity.

Another defendant, Daniel Sanchez Estrada, was not at Prairieland the night of the shooting or involved in the planning, his attorney Christopher Weinbel said. Sanchez Estrada, who is married to another of the defendants, was convicted only on charges of concealing documents. Weinbel said his client just moved a box of his own belongings of artwork, poetry, journals and zines after the shooting. Nothing in the box was illegal, Weinbel said. Sanchez Estrada was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

I haven't been myself lately. Let me explain why.

I'm just going to cut straight to it — I experience some form of plurality.

I've never been diagnosed with anything (I can't even afford a doctor, let alone a DID specialist), but my best guess is that it's something along the lines of OSDD-1b.
Basically, this means that I experience dissociation with multiple distinct parts or alters, but there is very little amnesia between dissociative episodes.
I've been generally aware of this since I was 14 or 15, but I didn't have a name for it until after I had graduated high school.

When I found the term "dissociative identity disorder" and looked into it, I cried myself to sleep that night.
I was both relieved that I wasn't alone or just simply crazy, and I was also terrified about what it meant for my future.
I tried to hide it and bury my alters. I tried to conquer them and make them do what I wanted to do. None of these worked, and for the most part ended up backfiring on me.

I am now happy to say that we are a well-coordinated, well-balanced system of 3, and we have been this way for the better part of 7 years.

Things have been getting quite difficult for me. Socio-economical turmoil and personal strife has been stressing me out on pretty much every level I can think of.
For these reasons, I believe a 4th is on their way into the world. I don't know what they will be or how they will react to being in a system — or, frankly, if they are even actually real.
But, I know that, if they are indeed real, I want to be supportive of them and allow them to process everything that is going on at their own pace.
And, this starts with being more openly accepting of myself. This is who I am. This is who we are.

I am not going anywhere. In fact, you'll probably be seeing even more of me than normal.
You'll just be seeing me along with potentially some new faces as well.
You'll meet the others in due time, whenever they are ready to introduce themselves.
In the meantime, though, all I ask is that you remain accepting, and be kind and compassionate.
