Beyond the science, the opportunity to engage with patient advocates provided an important reminder of why this work matters. The conversations, connections, and ideas generated during the retreat will drive future collaborations and move us closer to better outcomes for people affected by cancer.
During the retreat, consortium members shared scientific progress, discussed strategies for translating discoveries through ACS BrightEdge, and explored new opportunities for collaboration. Trainee presentations highlighted both their research accomplishments and the promising future of the field.

And they're off! Dr. William Dahut, Chief Scientific Officer at ACS and Dr. @cmannunziata.bsky.social, SVP for Extramural Research are now almost halfway through this year's Pan Ohio Hope Ride, having kicked off yesterday alongside more than 200 other riders.

Last summer, our Chief Scientific Officer Dr. William Dahut completed the ACS Pan Ohio Hope Ride, captaining his team as they rode across Ohio and raised money for cancer research. After the event, Dr. Dahut challenged the riders to return again in 2026 and to bring a new rider into the challenge.

Session co-chairs Dr. Mingyang Song and Dr. Joanne Lysaght selected three complimentary flash talks from Alvina Adimoelja, Michael Coleman, PhD, and Dr. Carol Leung that rounded out this fantastic session. The room was buzzing as the session wrapped up! #PrevCon26
Thought-provoking talks from Dr. Jennifer Baker, Dr. Emily Balskus, and Dr. Nicholas Timpson generated great discussion, particularly around our rapidly evolving understanding around the connections between obesity, the gut microbiome, and cancer risk. #PrevCon26
The session kicked off with remarks from Dr. Panagiota Mitrou discussing the role of the WCRFI and the AICR as thought leaders in the field of cancer prevention. #PrevCon26
𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦? That is the question that we explored during this afternoon's scientific session at #PrevCon26 that was sponsored by @wcrf.org and the American Institute for Cancer Research.
The session wrapped up with a series of flash talks by Dr. Gai Bowen, Dr. Asif Khan, and Dr. Abi Connor on the same topic. The session was an exciting look at the promise of machine learning and advanced analytics to advance cancer prevention. #PrevCon26 #CancerPrevention @cancerresearchuk.org
The morning of Day 1 also featured our first scientific session on 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. This session was co-chaired by Dr. Suzette Delaloge and Dr. Chris Sander and featured talks from Drs. Trevor Graham, Jiang Bian, and Adam Yala as well as a brief panel discussion. #PrevCon26
