Thank you to catsmithmp.bsky.social for meeting with us today. We discussed the need for a cancer warning on forthcoming alcohol labels in the UK given that public awareness of alcohol as a carcinogen is worryingly low. Health warnings will help ensure consumers can make an informed choice.

An estimated 6.3 million new cancer cases will be diagnosed between now and 2040. Around 40% of these are preventable. Prevention by addressing modifiable risk factors such as obesity and alcohol must therefore be a priority of the forthcoming National Cancer Plan #OneCancerVoice

Today we came together as #OneCancerVoice calling on the government to ensure that the National Cancer Plan delivers world leading action on cancer. Prevention will play a vital role in reducing the cancer burden and allow millions more to live healthier lives free from cancer.
