Today, we reaffirm our support for transgender athletes and transgender members of our community. Sports unite us and should always be a place of belonging. We reject efforts that invite greater scrutiny of athletes’ bodies, identities, and private medical information. 1/3

These measures will not only single out a vulnerable population; they risk creating an environment in which all athletes—especially women and girls—face invasive questioning, inspections, and undue burdens.

We stand with transgender athletes and everyone who believes sports are strongest when they are built on dignity and respect.

The text on the slide: as of March 2026, Nikki Hiltz has our record seven consecutive national indoor and outdoor 1500 m wins. They were also named to the 2026 induction class of the LGBTQ sports Hall of Fame.

Nikki Hiltz has made advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community a large part of their work off the track. They have been outspoken about World Athletic’s anti-transgender guidelines that have limited their ability to access healthcare that affirm their gender identity.
They founded Pride 5K in 2020 an annual 5K run held on National Coming Out Day to benefit LGBTQ+ youth nonprofits. Pride 5K has raised $190,000 for LGBTQ nonprofits since its inception.
