So, today happened.

So.

Runi and my's day went as followed.

My hip has been hurting for over a month. Possibly 2ish. It makes lying down uncomfortable at best and screaming-and-crying levels of agony at worst. Due to ongoing Medical jackassery, we needed to go out of town in order for me to visit Urgent Care in order for it to be initially observed and get an X-Ray. (My legal address is not here, is the short of it.)

On the way back, we were on the highway cruising along in the carpool lane. Someone merges ahead of us. Sure. At the same time, someone to our right merges towards us. This necessitated an emergency maneuver, one which unfortunately resulted in a loss of control of the vehicle. We swerved left almost into the concrete partition, right out across three lanes in the highway, and then back left into the partition at an angle at what I estimate to be 30-40 MPH.

We are a bit banged up, but we have no known critical injuries. The Car is almost certainly functionally Dead. This is honestly the worst part of the whole event, because each time a car zooms past us, the air pressure causes the car to jostle; in the wake of our bodies pumping adrenaline, this makes the next five minutes very tense. Thankfully a patrol-tow happened to be in the area, checked up on us, and towed us off of the highway into the parking lot of a nearby park at no cost.

The insurance is closed until Monday, so this is now an open issue for us to deal with going forward.

As of this writing, we are now home and safe for the moment. We're glad to still be here.

I haven't cried yet, but I probably will soon.

Pulled 145 bucks for @translifeline.org today. Technical issues precluded me from participating in the raid train proper; but that's not gonna stop me from doing what I set out to do, if a bit differently. We had a lot of fun seeing the game and had some good conversations.
