Been a while since I shared a #nowplaying. Today, it's Beirut's "Hadsel," a surprisingly mellow album that prominently features an old church organ. Much more laid back than other Beirut stuff, and it works!
Season Cycle: Summer is currently on the top of the Bandcamp "hot ambient summer" chart! Sure, there aren't any other releases under that tag, and that's not really a genre....but don't try to minimize this achievement!

I can't believe it's been two years since my album Upper Atmosphere was released. I'm still amazed by its reception: many really nice reviews, played more than 2 million times (!?) on Pandora, still regularly in the @somafm.com Top 30 on Drone Zone, & spurred a remix collab album w/ many artists

Out today, a new EP from my side project, Extra Credits. Recorded live in 2023 and then shelved indefinitely after we both experienced a great deal of change in our personal lives. Here we are, 3 years later. It felt like it was the right time to share them. So much has changed, indeed.

Peek behind the layers of a WIP at some creative #sounddesign. I transformed piano into an evolving pad texture. Without all the effects, it really sounds awful. Created in #renoise (which is how I make all my music!)
Also, perhaps a tad difficult to read at this resolution, but the tape features the Holotype font from @somepx.com for the tracklisting. I know they're marketed as fonts for video games, but they can work for music inspired by video games too, right??
