Acabei de lembrar que a vez que fiz metade (porque era mais um rolê de amigos desenhistas e na segunda metade optei por pintar um Godzilla pro Kaijune kk) na verdade foi com tinta acrílica. Foi um dos meus primeiros e principais contatos com acrílica, mas no fim acho q gosto mais de óleo mesmo

I learned only a few days ago that the mobile version of @en.clipstudio.net works on smartphones too! And it feels great, even without a stylus, the best painting app for Android I've tried so far. With Clip Studio's cloud, this opens an interesting way to keep working on projects across devices.

With the series finale today, feels like a good moment to mention I was a beta-tester for the VR Game The Boys: Trigger Warning by @arvoreimmersive.bsky.social! As a fan, it was exciting for many reasons, but above all it's a great game. Super-powers in VR while sticking it to Vought? Perfection.

A... an... Well, it seems like someone's neck area, but there is no head, instead the neck's skin is extended upwards by a... It's a bloodied skull, way smaller than it should be for that person, with a thin pair of horns coming from the cheeks and piercing the neck's extended skin, as if the skull is floating and pulling the hollow neck's skin with these horns.

Believe it or not I only recently heard of the Bargue Plates (archive.org/details/C.Ba...), so I'm giving them a go while applying a simplified Cognitive Drawing (coffeetablecomics.com/cognitive-dr...) / Shrimp Method (prrb.tumblr.com/post/3017779...), meaning I 1) copy, 2) try from memory, then fix

Practice of the 1st Bargue Plate, but each eye appears twice, copied then attempted from memory (then slightly fixed afterwards).

Took me long enough but I finally played Horrified: American Monsters 🖤, the first one I worked on (cover illustration + monster cards). Loved it! Banshee is tough as nails for an easy monster, though, makes me scared of the harder ones. We actually lost but kept playing to at least kill Chupacabra

Even though I won an important national award and worked on some of the most awesome projects of my career this year, behind the scenes I had tons of rejections, some quite discouraging. But when I knew the theme for #hardcover2025 was RETRO I could'nt not try.

Now my work is in an artbook with some of the greatest artists of our time 🥹. Which happens to be a time of increasing institutional prejudice against creators of anything deemed NSFW, with not only social media platforms but also payment processors choosing censorship instead of better conditions. So #hardcover's mission to support freedom of expression matters even more now and I'm proud to be a part of it. The theme is #RETRO, but I'd say the tag #VintageStyleNOTVintageValues applies.

This is also the only book (or any product, for that matter) I worked on, in my 12 years of published illustrations, from which part of the sales will go to the artists themselves. Each copy you buy will send money directly to all of us. In times where artists are under even more pressure and attacks, this also matters a lot.
