The average age of a first-time homebuyer is over 40 years old. This is not surprising, especially when you look at the cost of single family homes in this district. I will fight to bring down the cost of housing and ensure that hard work can once again equal getting ahead.
The Purple Heart is one of our nation's most respected military decorations. It is awarded to the men and women of our Armed Forces who are wounded or killed as a direct result of enemy action.
Educators shape our kids’ futures and hold our communities together. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to sit down with Beaufort-area teachers to hear firsthand about the challenges facing our schools.
The Lowcountry is worth fighting for and I want to meet you in every corner of it. With 90 days until Election Day, I'm committed to showing up where you are. Host an event, invite your circle, or simply open your door. Fill out our event inquiry form and let's get to work!
Eight months down. Three months to go. My family shared every moment of this campaign so far. They kept me grounded, but also lifted me up when I needed it.
Thank you to @votevets.org and everyone who came out to Beaufort yesterday for our Veterans Happy Hour! The Lowcountry has a strong military tradition I’m proud to be a part of. I can’t wait to represent our community in Congress!
In Congress, I will fight to lower health care costs. Hardworking families should be able to get the care they need, when they need it, without going into debt. It's time to put people before special interests and deliver real relief for American families.
On Tuesday, I visited the USS Yorktown. As a former Navy helicopter pilot, walking her decks brought back a lot of memories and reminded me of the oath I took to support and defend the Constitution.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet with local educators to listen and talk about the role Congress can play in helping every student succeed.
Hope to see you at our happy hour event with VoteVets this Saturday, August 1st in Beaufort! Sign up here: www.mobilize.us/votevets/eve...
Senator Kelly knows how to win tough races and how vital SC-01 is to securing the House majority this November!
100 days until Election Day and I couldn’t be happier to be working hard every day to be your next Representative. See you on the campaign trail 🗳️
Hardworking families across the Lowcountry are doing everything right, but the cost of living keeps getting higher. I’m running for Congress because people who work hard deserve the opportunity to get ahead, not just get by.
South Carolina families deserve a future they can afford. In SC-01, housing costs have climbed far too high for too long. I will fight for policies that bring relief, expand opportunity, and make it possible for every family to succeed.
Friday, I had the pleasure of visiting Kids on Point summer camp for story time! Programs like these are incredibly important to the community, and I have the greatest respect for the educators who run them.
Spent most of Thursday in Beaufort County, and it was time well spent. I started the day having a great conversation with a group of local veterans in Beaufort, listening to their concerns and hearing firsthand what matters most to them.
Earlier this week, I sat down with several veterans in Charleston County to talk through the issues that are important to them, including VA healthcare. These honest, in-person conversations matter. Thank you to everyone who joined us. I’m listening, and we’ll keep the conversations going.
Pete Hegseth has once again interfered with the Navy promotion list. in Congress, I will fight to make sure politics do not interfere with our military.
Great to meet @govwesmoore.bsky.social this morning while on the road to Flip the Future with @scdemocrats.bsky.social!
It was great talking with you, Chris! Thank you for your words of encouragement.
The best part of this campaign isn’t the signs - it’s the people holding them! People who believe we need better leaders in DC now.
The support we’ve received since launching this campaign is amazing. Let’s keep the momentum going as we move toward the General Election in November!
On July 6, 1976, the U.S. Naval Academy inducted its first 81 female midshipmen. The following day, 119 cadets were admitted to West Point for the first time. And on July 8, 1948, the Air Force accepted its first female airmen through the Women in the Air Force program.
Nothing defines America more than freedom. I spent 35 years defending it in uniform, and I’ll continue protecting it while serving in Congress. Happy 250th America!
Senator Mark Kelly’s endorsement is meaningful because we share the belief that public service is about delivering results not political games. We’ve both seen how D.C. dysfunction gets in the way of service. I’m proud to have his support as we work to bring integrity and focus back to Washington.
Congratulations to Berkeley County Council candidate Ralph Prioleau on a great campaign launch! I was honored to receive this amazing piece of art from Willis Sanders, and proud to stand alongside Sylvia Wright, nominee for State Superintendent, as we look ahead to the work in front of us.
South Carolina is on the map with Nancy Lacore on the ballot! This campaign is open to all, and leaders across the country are taking notice of the race for SC-01.
Patriotism is about loving this country enough to serve it, to defend the Constitution, and do the hard work of making America stronger for the next generation. That’s the kind of patriotism I believe in.
