Vaccines save lives - PERIOD. Pres. Trump & RFK Jr. should take advice and guidance from doctors & scientists and stop pushing their unfounded medical conspiracy theories that put our kids & communities at risk.
Everyone deserves a safe workplace. Bus drivers do critical work for our communities & abuse against them should never be tolerated. I’ve got a bipartisan bill to confront the surge in violence against transit operators & ensure bus drivers can do their job safely & securely.
Americans have had enough of Big Tech putting profits over children’s safety. I’m urging Congress to pass clean, comprehensive, bipartisan Kids Online Safety Act because we need new tools for parents to protect their kids.
It’s important to note that DOJ under Todd Blanche is still NOT complying with the Epstein Files Law. And DOJ continues to avoid releasing key facts about Trump Admin’s preferential treatment toward convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell. I will continue pressing to make these docs public.
In February, RI was buried until a historic pile of snow. Damage far exceeded the limit for federal disaster aid. But Pres. Trump denied RI’s request out of pettiness & partisanship. I’m fighting to make it right.
Today, on the 61st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act (VRA), we thank those who marched, organized & sacrificed to secure the right to vote. Now, with the Trump Admin threatening to disenfranchise millions of eligible Americans, I’m fighting to preserve & advance the VRA.
Strengthening Medicaid & building on its success is a priority for me because families need healthcare coverage. Tragically, the GOP is cutting Medicaid & kicking Americans off health insurance.
Visited @downcitydesign.bsky.social’s summer program to chat with students about their service projects. Proud to deliver federal support for this engaging program that helps talented kids build new skills & explore careers. Keep up the great work!
Trump slashed cyber defense funding. Now, states are getting hit with cyberattacks – the evidence is pointing to Iran – and Trump is blaming U.S. states. These coordinated attacks should be a wakeup call. I urge Trump Admin to step up & help defend our nation from hackers.
TRUMP CAUSING PAIN AT THE PUMP: President Trump chose to initiate two costly, destabilizing international conflicts: global trade tariffs and a war against Iran. In both cases, Trump is forcing American consumers and businesses to bear higher costs.
Check out the U.S Coast Guard Cutter #BarqueEAGLE while it’s still here in RI – public tours available! Special thanks to Captain Ensley and the crew of “America’s Tall Ship” for visiting Newport this weekend & welcoming RIers aboard. #RI250
What’s a birthday without some cake?! 🎂🎂🎂 Joined @magaziner.house.gov @whitehouse.senate.gov at Coventry Senior Center to celebrate the tremendous impacts of #Medicare and #Medicaid and the need to protect and strengthen these programs for the next 61+ years.
President Trump is playing politics with disaster relief. Rhode Island is not seeking special treatment, just simple fairness. Congress should act in the taxpayer’s interest and help states who’ve been hit by a major, record-breaking disaster.
GOOD NEWS: New $76.6 billion contract for submarine construction will make waves for the Ocean State, our region, & the thousands of men and women who build and design the world’s most technologically advanced submarines that get their start here in RI.
While the President & his family are using the WH to accumulate billions of dollars through dubious deals, many hardworking Americans are struggling just to get by. Dems are fighting to clamp down on corruption. Republicans should join us.
Pres. Trump’s unauthorized Iran war & reckless tariffs are fueling higher costs for farmers & consumers. RI farmers have already been forced to spend an extra $1,520 more on diesel this year due to Trump’s failed policies.
This weekend, we marked Liberian Independence & the contributions of Liberian Americans with a wonderful festival filled with family activities & community.
Thanks to federal support & expertise from NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley, Pascoag’s new Fernwood neighborhood is now complete! Kudos to the dozens of RI families who used sweat equity & Mutual Self-Help Housing program to build their own homes & welcoming new community here in Burrillville.
Joined RI’s Colombian community at the Colombian American Cultural Society’s annual Festival de la Independencia de Colombia in downtown Pawtucket with terrific music, dancing, food & friends!
Festival season is underway! #Folkfest was a hit in Newport 🎶 I stopped by Newport’s newest recording studio, combining the beauty of Belcourt Mansion w/ the talents of RI’s-own Nick Sarazen. Will undoubtedly produce world-class music right here in the Ocean State.
Great visit with Warwick PAL’s student athletes this morning, chatting about gov’t & civics and how leadership & teamwork will help carry them far.
Years of hard work building up the New England Submarine Shipbuilding Partnership is paying off for RIers, our economy & our nat’l defense. 10,000 trainees have been prepped for good-paying, in-demand jobs contributing to our nat’l security. Let’s keep up the momentum.
Ignoring gun violence doesn’t fight crime or reduce injuries & death. Another example of Trump Admin rewarding the gun lobby while our communities suffer from guns. I’ll never stop fighting to stop gun violence & keep our communities safe.
Supporting local farmers is good for our environment, economy & health. Joined Young Farmer Network at Roots Farm in Tiverton to chat about their work inspiring the next generation of RI farmers to grow nutritious, delicious food for our communities. #EatLocal
Historic crowd here for a historic Bristol Fourth of July Parade! 🇺🇸
Happy 4th of July & happy 250th, America! Together, we celebrate freedom, independence, & the enduring American spirit!
PLAY BALL! Joined the Newport Gulls for a great #RI250 celebration w/ a ceremonial first pitch at Cardines Field.
Fireworks and the moon never look quite as impressive in pictures as they do in real life.
