This is built into an Ecosystem with complementary interventions: Including individual! systems, collective action, institutional support, and feeds into the policy system

To make it happen we need to create pathways to connect science, policy and diplomacy ... this requires expertise, access and an enabling system. @unesco.bsky.social supports Member States to strengthen its science, technology and innovation.

We hear about the #L'Oréal-UNESCO women in science programme and the call to action to mobilize and ecosystem for change! and the #GenSIS - Gender inclusive science institutions and systems...working at country level and and through learning labs for capacity building.

This morning I am listening in on the @unesco.bsky.social session on Empowering Women Scientists in #Policymaking for Sustainable Development. This is something that @emarineboard.bsky.social is passionate about, and highlights the importance of women for uptake or marine #Science into policy!

Margaret Stanley: primary maratime threats - Ireland’s geographic positions means thst it needed a new maritime security strategy. Starting to deal with risks and threats in the maritime domain. What happens in the Baltic or Mediterranean also affects the Atlantic amd Ireland.

Camino Kavanagh: critical threats to subsea cables, ports and ships - but we need to focus on resilience - ie subsea cables with alternative redundancy built in, cyber security and a skilled work force is also important. These are all important for security resilience!

Mike: from a threat perspective it is hybrid: Geography at NE fase of Europe is a problem; undersea cables; potential for ORE for energy; choke points in sea - but also environmental impact - storms are also a problem for the Navy.

Richard Browne: Cyber Security in general is underpinned by bigger security concerns.
