I heard a lot about how stickfigure sketches can really help an artists understand what you've got in mind, so this is the one I made for @kristkc.bsky.social when commissioning them for @dhscomix.com 's birthday present. I definitely think it helped KristKC understand what I was going for.

I case anyone thinks that "0" is just what they call the Ground Floor (which I did), here's a photo I took showing that while one lift used "0", the other used "G" for the same floor!

Do you see? Mercator projection is actively ruining global stability! Greenland is NOT the size of Africa!

He said that he needs to "own" Greenland because that is what he feels "is psychologically needed for success".

And Greenland's sheer size feeds that psychology - he famously told journalists in 2019 that he loved maps, and that Greenland looked enormous.

Like most laptops, it has a keyboard hinged to a screen, but also has another screen hinged to the top of that screen.

Updating the year on my calendar clock!

Square mechanical calendar clock. It uses standard analog clock for time, while Month, Date, and day of week (and am/pm) are updated by thode mechanical things that flip over, like used in the clock in Groundhog Day.

The year has to be updated manually. A drawer in the back of the clock contains plastic numbers that you use to swap out the year that's pinned to the front of the drawer. When the drawer is out back in, the displayed year is visible on clock face.

Currently shows 2025 with a hand holding the "6" digit, ready to replace the 5.

Rainbow cerberus Sherbet (in single headed form) is repairing a window. Unfortunately, they are doing it by hammering a rectangular sash window onto an opening that's clearly circular. Flux, the owner of the building, is outraged.

Downloading Blender from the Linux Mint Software Manager and... I think they need to update the screenshot.

Screenshot showing the Blender page in the Linux Mint Software manager. The page has a screenshot of Blender. Despite the page being for Blender version 4.0.2 (released late 2023/early 2024), the screenshot seems to show a 2.49 version of Blender, which was released around 2009. The difference is made obvious by the multiple visual overhauls that Blender has had since then, making the 2.49 version with its ugly interface, black outlined buttons and light grey background, looking positively antique.

We didn't do it on stream, but wanted everyone to know.... ...the gnome was launched.

A gnome nestled in the hatch of a rocket. Part of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, where you can get an achievement by picking up a gnome near the start of the game and carrying it through most of the game to place it in a rocket to be launched into outer space.
