17 years ago, Secret Love Parade (feat. @oakiam.bsky.social ) covered 'Roscoe' by @midlakeband for @theinfluences. Back when I was still figuring out how to film. (I still am, sort of) Pretty special to film a session (and their concert) with Midlake yesterday. So, a good time for a throwback.

“At 12 I saw Metallica in concert and it absolutely blew my mind. Hearing them play Bleeding Me, one of the songs I’ve chosen for The Influences, was a near religious experience. I’ve always loved this song. It’s quite dreamy and cinematic for a metal band, and then gets heavy as hell for parts."

Some amazing places opened their doors for these sessions this year; from venues like TivoliVredenburg and the legendary Paradiso, to workshops of painters and furniture makers, from old churches to my local petting zoo, and from musicians’ studios to bookstores. Thanks everyone for the hospitality.
