Too many books, not enough time! Reading and relaxing in Liverpool, Tokyo or elsewhere. Books, travel and more:
This was all one restaurant in Ishinomaki and I hope I'm going back there sometime before too long ❤️
If you're my kid and you get taken to shabu-shabu you will sweet-talk your grandma into ordering the Wagyu beef. This works out great for me because it was amazing.
This cheesecake!! Worth going to Sendai for, take my word for it.
I could eat this all day.... shijimi-jiru - miso soup with small clams - and mugicha - ice barley tea - made by a dear friend who's been looking after us all since the volunteering days in 2011/12. Tastes like home.
Have posted some of these elsewhere but thought Bluesky was missing out on a thread of all the best things I ate when I was back in Japan! First up, eel histumabushi (ひつまぶし) style, which comes from Nagoya at Maruya Honten Tokyo. Gaze in adoration at this set lunch 😋
Can't remember which round of fuckery it was that inspired someone (can't remember who!) to make this but it's never being defeated
Tokyo Metro has had enough of your influencer messing around.
Cheering up your doom scroll with some of the best bits of the garden
The new memorial for Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva at Anfield is beautiful.
Here's a picture of Japanese mountains, deep snow drifts, winter trees, numb fingers and toes, ice on your eyelashes, snowball fights and that freezing tingle on your cheeks to soothe you off to sleep tonight. May your dreams be Narnia-before-the-thaw levels of chill.
If more of your streets looked like this you'd be less baking, by the way. Was absolutely glorious under the trees. Slight breeze blowing. Felt delicious 🌳
Wonderful evening at @unitytheatre.bsky.social for ArtsGroupie's first performance of ‘The Invisible Man’, bringing together the life of director James Whale with his most flawed, grotesque creations.
Here's a pic of them bringing immaculate vibes to try to take away some of the sadness. Gutted for them both.
Always nice to find another @paulcurtisartwork.bsky.social mural when you're out and about in Liverpool 💚🤍❤️
If your inheritance is a heavily annotated, slightly tatty set of Wainwrights, you can consider yourself rich indeed.
Seen a few Gunners having a moan about the flares at their parade. This is an actual photo I took before the Spurs game last year as the team bus arrived. It wasn't even the parade!! Yous are too weak for this game!! No pyro, no party 🎇
Anyway, I bought meself a nice postcard in the club shop #LFC
The new memorial to Heysel at the Stanley Park end of the ground. #LFC
