Something something music theory. they/them
How to tell you're dealing with some real Business Geniuses. (The court that issued the ruling is in Germany.)
Continuing to document progress here so I have a chain of evidence to fall back on if I need it. You know what would be great, though, is if youtube sent me notifications for the process of correcting this (allegedly) fraudulent legal action being taken against me. I think that'd be pretty keen.
Putting this here in case I need photographic evidence in the future that I did in fact submit a counter notification this time, since they apparently don't send you a confirmation email so I can't prove I already did one.
It's been a long time since someone tried to push me this hard. Oh, well. Let's see if they want to get laughed out of a courtroom or not.
I don't know who told band/product managers that this was a good format for cold emails to creators but as a heads-up it is not.
Feels of a kind with this phenomenon. The issue here isn't that some of the views expressed are different than the ones I happen to hold.
My timelines usually look pretty clean but that's 'cause most of my shenanigans involve rate stretching which doesn't show up on this view.
I got this email and I legitimately can't tell what it's trying to sell me on. Like, is there a platform for these auctions? How do you auction a course? I don't read my comments very often, are people bidding in them? What's a "Loom"? And how does any of this add up to 6 figures?
But the memo is full of lines like this that set off significant red flags for me. This is, in short, platform logic. This is the belief that a video with more views is a better video. And I've worked in this space long enough to know how deeply toxic that belief is to the ideals of service.
Thanks to the new issue of Music Theory Spectrum, I now have multiple academic citations to support the claim that I'm popular.
