1Bit Fever Dreams

Vintage compact black and white Macs enthusiast, sitting on the line between software and hardware! Also very nostalgic of ms-dos gaming golden era 1991-1994. New adopter of a Wildbits/K2
FUN new synth app from fellow wildbits owner jbaker8935. I'm testing it out. MIDI in VS1053b output in dac mode 2 oscillators with LFOs
most cursed Mac thing you've heard all day, a midi file dispatched to the four-tone synth of the Macintosh Sound Driver #macintosh #programming #clanguage
I just launched my new video: "Wildbits BAREBONES C game project tutorial" to get people going with this platform (fmr. known as F256). youtu.be/3afAJUqeyeE
Master of Orion, 1993 MSDOS game from my favorite era of PC gaming. I love the 2d pixel art in 320x240 much more than the early, awkward 3d era that followed a few years later. Just got the box in the mail today. The disks unfortunately no longer work.
Small update for my MIDI file player I made in C for the 6502 based wildbits/K2 - I added a playlist mode and some bouncing MIDI logo sweetness (think DVD logo and those rare corner bounces!!!)
my new video review on the Snow Macintosh emulator! youtu.be/sMdRzK9dBSw
The absolutely unbelievable art from Trici Venola, found in the 'Mac the Knife' art disk from Miles Computing, circa 1987
finally made a video on my MIDI file player coding started 2 years ago and worked on and off www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_Uh...
It is 2026. A kid coded this superbasic program for hours for father's day, on a Wildbits/K2 (6502/816 based wedge computers) The father is the owner of the #Wildbits line. It's think it's fair to call this wholesome!
2/2 quick capture of playback, showing animations. the Mac Plus is struggling a bit during this dense passage of onestop.mid, but a SE/30 doesn't have trouble here.
cozyMIDI: my brand new 68k mac application coded in C (and sweat). Plays standard MIDI files assuming you have an external module plugged on the modem port. Runs on a Mac Plus, speed is perfect on a SE/30 and up. Has fun animations during playback (see the 2/2 post in this thread) #macintosh 1/2
of all the bugs I've encounted in my C coding projects, this is...the most posessed, cursed bug of all time. demonic Mac Plus MIDI signals from another dimension
I made a Tinker Different thread explaining how to hook up a MIDI device on your host computer and have it communicate with Snow emulator. Both #MIDI in and MIDI out works #Macintosh #retrocomputing tinkerdifferent.com/threads/how-...
Mike C wrote a superbasic for a #wildbits computer (fmr. known as foenix retro) that's very easy to learn from, using connectivity with the wifi chip, fetching data from NASA and displaying the ISS coordinates in real time. I've let it run for about 30+ hours
Finally some MIDI pitch bending added to my Firejam (own C coded app), for all platforms: #macintosh, #wildbits K2. I'll make it work for SID, PSG and OPL3 and the Mac sound Driver output as well in their respective ways.
someone (thanks, furan) did this pixel animation on a LED matrix wall which looked so cool I had to reverse engineer it on my #wildbits K2 using 2 layers of smooth scrolling tiles. I added a fm synth menu music from System Shock, I felt it fit the vibes.
If you're visiting #VCF #VCFEast this weekend, consider checking out this amazing Wildbits classroom, where you're learn the ins and outs of this new retro platform (fmr. known as Foenix F256). Workshops happening on all 3 days, all day long on various topics surrounding its basic, sprites sound etc
The 3x3 MIDI selector and the PC Gameport party's stocks were runing low, so some fresh new batch (batch #3!) were just added to Joe's Computer Museum store https://www.jcm-1.com
my BlueSCSI uSD card glitched and I lost everything lovingly dropped into my #globaltalk drop folder for 2026. I'm back in the saddle of course, but it's gonna be tough getting back a fraction of all these treasures. Thank you if you spend a few minutes putting back a file! #MARCHintosh
In less than 3 hours, Return to Dark Castle makes a "return" to Steam, launches TODAY. I'm a rabid fan of the original DC and Beyond DC from the b&w mac days. I'm excited to play this entry - never had the platform for it when it released Precision platform with cartoon humor! 14.99 USD 1st 2 weeks!
#MARCHintosh #GlobalTalk this new (non-hypercard, fast, low ram footprint) app "GlobalTalk Chat" released a couple days ago just got an update. It's fantastic to have a landing where you can be active and shoot the breeze with others, gives something else to do apart from stomping around in afps
TODAY I kept up with the Commodore! I got a pi1541 disk emulator so I can run those crazy european PAL demos on my 1983 NA C64 with a Vic II kawari small board. It was getting old writing to real floppies with a ZoomFloppy board.
more 6502 based programming using floating point calcs 3d transformations, thanks to linear algebra *sound up (MIDI)* done in C on a Wildbits/K2 wildbitscomputing.com
First foray into using fpga accelerated floating point operations (thanks to jbaker's routines) trigger warning: buzzing sounds
