But I suspect in the PNW it is this little guy that might be more likely confused with a House Sparrow. (Chestnut-backed Chickadee.)
Heard sandhill cranes while walking the spaniel today. And saw a pileated woodpecker. A warm, sunny day in Ontario.
Nice. This is one of two that we saw at Lake Naivasha in late November. Neat bird—and one that I hadn't been expecting to see.
