Not played enough yet to give my full impressions (only got code yesterday), but after just a few levels Teeto is already scratching my 3D platforming itch wonderfully. Charming, colourful, creative, and a good central gimmick... an easy recc so far!
Rewatched Gridlock yesterday on a whim - and it's still a cracking story in its own right. But you forget how amazing it is because of what it does with the same tiny set redressed, like, 6 or 7 times. Doing a lot with very little to build a world... now THAT's Doctor Who.
Four episodes of Expert Mode out in the wild. Four amazing guests talking about their career. Thank you to everyone who has watched and supported so far! ❤️
You heard it here first, everyone. '50 Indie Games that Changed the World' is a "luxury meal" of a book. 👌 What a lovely review. So happy people continue to discover and enjoy it.
Ahhh, what better way to celebrate 20 years of Doomsday than buying a plain white mug with a JPEG on it. Insane that this is an officially licensed Doctor Who product.
Okay, last thing on this. But I *totally* enjoyed this cameo appearance of Elliot from The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales early on in the game. 👌
0% Blood Orange!? You know I had to jump on this. And? It's... Different. But not bad, not bad at all.
Pre-ordered this Mortal Kombat 4K set before it was announced Blu-Ray discs would be endangered... What a beautiful thing. Flawless Victory!
Hey! We made another episode of that video game interview show on YouTube that people seem to like! 🎉 Here's 'Neil Newbon plays Baldur's Gate 3' for Expert Mode: youtu.be/DtqIMvz0-QU?... Happy weekend everyone!
"The breadth of games covered is truly impressive" Nice to see some fresh reviews for my book coming in following its recent reprint. 😇
My brother is 10 years younger than me, but he platinums almost every game he plays (a proper sweat). I just informed him of today's news, and I think his response sums it up nicely:
Some of you may not know that I occasionally write for a film magazine, Onscreen - yup, an actual *free* print mag you can hold in your hands. Imagine that? Anyway, here's the new issue where I preview Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Insidious: Out of the Further: www.onscreen.online/magazine/202...
Was nice to see Episode 2 of Expert Mode, with the great Nick Apostolides, cross 150K views on YouTube over the weekend. 🎉 It's beyond even my wildest hopes... www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PN7... I guess we should do more episodes of this show soon, huh?
Casually thinking back to when I wrote The Making of LOTR: The Two Towers and The Making of LOTR: The Return of the King for @retrogamermag.bsky.social. Man, I miss writing for mags so much sometimes...
Went to an exhibition earlier celebrating 50 years of Aardman Animation. It was fucking mint!
Counting down the days until we get this gem announced for Switch 2. (It's gotta happen eventually, right?)
Had no idea this slipcase version of Predator: Hunting Grounds existed. It's actually pretty cool.
Is this potentially the worst PS5 exclusive of all time? For the princely sum of £12, I guess I'll be finding out this weekend.
Hey, listen! My book, 50 Indie Games That Changed The World, is back in stock at Bitmap Books. In it, you can read about the Making Of stories behind games like... - Shovel Knight - Limbo 🖤 - Axiom Verge 🌀 - Fez 🪗 - Her Story 📺 - and many more! Grab your copy here: tinyurl.com/mrcprxwz
When I picked up my PS4 on launch day there were two games I played, both available on PS Plus: Resogun and Contrast. Both games were awesome. Studio shutdowns suck. Thoughts with everyone affected at Compulsion Games.
