Taking your lab puppy to a rocky Maine Beach is a 10/10 experience, she was so happy and at home.

Really grateful that my wife is letting me have this as Fathers Day even though we just have a dog and I am not a Dad, but I needed a Me Day, so we went to my favorite ocean spot, my favorite brewery and we're going to walk around my favorite tourist trap, and my favorite song played as we got here

This is the post I never wanted to make. This morning, after a rough couple days, Kaley collapsed on our morning walk. We took her to the vet, and she let us know... It was time.
These two vile temptresses (and a headache) convinced me I needed my nap before my chores were done
The other day I told someone how old Kaley is and then I paused to do the math and y'all She's gonna be 14 in a couple months How did that HAPPEN I love my ancient dog. She's so sweet. She's slowing down but she's still got her goofy moments and still loves nothing more than hanging out
We've taken Kaley out for a day away from the puppy to spoil her and a lady at the taproom just got weepy over how pretty and old she is and that is EXACTLY the reverence she deserves
Watching a 7 month old lab experience water for the first time is a TREAT
It's like a billion percent humidity but we get so few porch days a year I'm not willing to miss this one I give it 20 minutes before I give up lol
I didn't get any bird pics from our walk with the Maine Audubon this morning, since I was trying to stay in the moment and learn But there WAS a baby porcupine contentedly napping and snacking in a tree that we sat and watched for like 30 minutes

No less than ten people told Kaley she's perfect and she is exhausted and so happy
I'm so glad I get to have a brewery day with the old dog. Kaley *loves* the brewery around the corner from our house. It's always covered in UMaine students who shower her in affection. She's like Orono's therapy dog.
Look at her. She makes me feel like we could take over the world via pozole and bilingual queer and/or BIPOC youth nature walks
