My most Gen X opinion is that IN MY DAY when we went underage drinking in a field at night we took all our empty cans home and we didn’t bloody start a fire in a drought and leave it unattended all night so a be try attractive hero has to bank it and stamp out the coals the next day

Genuinely, I thought there’d be more to it, but the sum of his complaint is this paragraph

I sometimes feel like our conversation doesn’t flow as easily as I want it to. I am easily triggered when I say something—anything—that doesn’t get an immediate response, or when we are cooking dinner together and I try to banter but am met with mostly silence. She tells me she needs to focus, that she wants the output of anything she does to be top-notch (and that if we talk too much, it won’t be). But I feel unseen and unheard when my words aren’t being met with more words. I feel the energy spiraling out of me, and I leave our interactions often more depressed than I was before they started.

I finally have a night without any freelance or book work to do. I could catch up on reading or play more of the fun games I’m part way through. Thank god I didn’t pick a dog who will run face first through loads of agrimony so I have to spend an hour combing his coat.
