I was taking a mental reset to practice something I have always been just.....terrible at It was a good way to calm my mind

Four simple origami "foxes"

One is..... A good first attempt that looks nothing like a fox as I had started over wit a new paper before getting anywhere near finishing

The second kind of looks like a mammal similar to a fox. Maybe like.....some kind of show dog breed. This one I started over on a later step

The third....actually looks decently like a fox. I am pretty proud of it.

A yellow one, next to the first attempt is one I tried doing from memory after making three attempts....and you can tell by how disheveled and uhhhhh unique it looks haha

A better picture of the third origami fox. It is light orange and the white side of the paper gives it an almost natural looking coloration on parts of the tail and throughout the body. It's still got some parts I am looking to improve further on my next attempt such as the face not quite lining up properly but I am proud of the clear improvement in just three attempts.

Was cutting an apple and found out you can in fact clip your nails with a regular drawer utensil knife DO NOT CLIP YOUR NAILS WITH A REGULAR DRAWER UTENSIL KNIFE OR ANY OTHER KNIFE

I guess it's that time of year for big fishing spiders

Her body size is about an inch.

My hand next to the dark fishing spider from the previous post. She is about the full length from the base of the finger nail to the base of the entire finger right before the knuckle

A more detailed picture of the dark fishing spider. She is tan with splotches of brown and dark brown that almost looks black. Her legs are banded with smooth bands of brown and tan past the segment of her legs closest to her body whereas that segment has uneven stripes that appear irregular. Her head has a radial dark pattern reaching out and leaving a tan border. Her abdomen has a symmetrical very dark brown (or perhaps black) pattern down it. She thinks she's hidden but against the very light wood of the deck she kind of sticks out.

Who do I direct my middle finger towards in this instance? I've had watch history turned off for years and was still recommended videos. I assume based on channel metrics of similar audiences (if you like this channel you might like this one, kind of thing)

Any thoughts on this? It seems Bluesky is not mandating a government ID like YouTube and instead also has options that don't retain your biometric or private data/otherwise less invasive

Beautiful! Neosconas are so pretty ☺️ I wasn't quite able to do this N. arabesca justice but I was glad I got to see it anyways

Neoscona arabesca; a small spider with red legs/head and patterns of white and black on an orange abdomen on a stick. The white on the abdomen forms somewhat of a thickly segmented arrow shape pointing towards the head of the spider with a wavy black outline along only the long part of the arrow segments. Various white segments surround the arrow and extend to the edge of the abdomen as well.

Allowing myself to make bad art in an attempt to one day make good art. This was a good assessment of my starting point. Proportions are still hard cause I didn't quite get the leg spread right. I came up with ways to adjust for next time. Scared of coloring so I chose a black and white subject lol

Hearing about Jonathan Joss has been heartbreaking. Reading the statement from his husband and then seeing how it is being reported in the news is radicalizing. None of them mention the hatred, homophobia, and shoulder shrugging from authorities they went through leading to this tragedy

As one of your constituents that has been living in the Commonwealth of Virginia my entire life, I find it imperative to speak up on the proposed "One Big Beautiful Bill" and how it would negatively affect not just those living in Virginia but all states for generations.

This bill encompasses many topics with some issues affecting constituents less than others. However, amidst the many sections in this bill are several proposals that will enable long term consequences for the American people. For example, Sec. 110101 regarding no tax on tips sounds like it would be beneficial to low-income Americans but it doesn't address the root issues of tipping culture that is pervasive throughout our society. That being employers are not providing their employees a living wage and instead taking a loophole that passes the responsibility on to their customers. Enshrining tipping culture even further than it is now would ultimately be anti-worker and anti-consumer. For that reason, can I count on you to vote NO on the One Big Beautiful Bill?

But that's not the only reason to vote no on this bill. Also included in this bill is the usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Medicare decisions and the prevention of restrictions on Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence is often used as a scape goat for making decisions that come with political ramifications. I have a bachelor's degree in computer science and I can tell you that it is extremely easy to manipulate Artificial Intelligence to provide biased outputs. Historically, we have seen these AI automated decisions be utilized to favor the interests of corporations and not the people. United Healthcare was utilizing AI to deny health insurance claims and need I remind you of how that was perceived by the public, especially after an extreme act of violence against the person who in the public's eye was responsible for such a decision? My fear with Sec. 112204 is integrating AI into Medicare decisions. Voting …
