Two photos I took: An abandoned house; 6-21-14, and the same site on 7-2-26. In the early 1980s, when I lived in the area, an elderly indigenous couple still dwelt there. My father and I sometimes spoke with them, if they happened to be sitting outside. #abandoned #columbiarivergorge #oregon

I initially watched A Canterbury Tale (1944; directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger) for its influential match cut, but it's also a rich, beautifully-shot film. I got a kick from fish-out-of-water, Sgt. Bob Johnson (John Sweet), announcing he was from Oregon. #WWII #cinema #michaelpowell
