I’m having a very good week for insects. This beautiful Jersey Tiger moth came to visit our jasmine.
Here’s a very cool thing that just happened to me. A dragonfly inside my kitchen resting at the bottom of the window. I managed to get the window open enough for her to fly away without any harm. But not before getting a snap or two.
Hard to convey how huge this peony is. It was in bud yesterday morning. It’s taken me a while but I have learnt to love plain peonies.
Needed something to ease my troubled mind after today’s events. If you love Joni Mitchell this album has superb reworking of songs played by marvellous jazz musicians and sung by assorted vocalists. It’s amazing. Playing it on a decent stereo helps mind.

The Courauld Gallery continues its run of stunning exhibitions. It’s Seurat’s turn and they are well worth seeing close up. One interesting thing I didn’t know is that he liked to manage the whole process including making bespoke frames- like this one.

Those soft doughy monstrosities that supermarkets sell as bagels, well they are not bagels that anyone deserves to have to eat. This one is high baked, crispy on the outside and delightfully soft on the inside. Sticking them in the oven bt 180 and 200 for a few minutes will help inadequate ones

I like Ron Sexmith’s music but about four albums a century is not prolific.
