Nashville Zoo update!

Because of your incredible support, we're celebrating an important victory. BL2026-1448, the temporary moratorium on new large-scale data centers, and BL2026-1391, establishing important protections for future data center development, both passed unanimously. In addition, the Mayor's eminent domain proposal passed its second reading.
More than 562,000 people signed our petition, Metro Council meetings saw record-breaking public turnout and our community made its voice impossible to ignore. Thank you to everyone who signed, shared, emailed, called and showed up!
These actions are a significant step in the right direction.
Though DC Blox now owns the property, the temporary moratorium pauses permit approvals until after December 1.
While this is meaningful progress, our work isn't over. We remain committed to ensuring the proposed data center is not built adjacent to Nashville Zoo and we hope DC Blox recognizes the overwhelming message from our community and abandons its plans for this location.
We will continue working to protect the Zoo, the more than 3,000 animals in our care and the communities that call Nashville Zoo their neighbor.”

Good news: @bagelesq.bsky.social and I got the results from Roan’s biopsy back, and there’s no indication of cancer; she’s just an IBD girlie! (along with all her previous diagnoses) Here are some cute pics of her being high this week while recovering from the surgery
