My favorite segment is the third, Hoichi the Earless because I think it's the one where Masaki gets the boldest with the framing of the shots, transitions, and atmosphere but all the segments are very very good. Seriously go watch the movie. It's in the criterion collection so it's not hard to find

been meaning to talk about it for a while now but if you haven't seen it, you must watch Kwaidan. It's billed as horror but that undersells the experience of the movie. The cinematography, set design, costuming, usage of light and shadow it's just all so good. I could gush about this movie for HOURS
