I'm done. ⚰️ This was definitely interesting to work on. Made me think about media more critically AND check things out I otherwise wouldn't have. That being said, I'm not gonna do it again for 2026. Judging everything in my brain took away some of my enjoyment for the media haha Happy new year!

Things slowed way down in November That month went by faster than I thought it would. I've got finals looming over me, but once I push through that, I'm hoping I can use winter break to catch up on some games in my library. Not much else to say. Wowzas!

Year 2 done! To be honest, think next year might be my last. Make it a nice, happy trilogy. Then again, horror movies always get more sequels than they need, so who knows?

oh god i'm slowing things way down in november lmao The movie marathon was really fun to do! There were some rough days, especially near the middle when school assignments ramped up, but I'm glad I got through it. November should hopefully be easier. I wanna finish some shows/games, but no stress.

Day 30: Terrifier 2 (4/5 ⭐️) Obviously the gore isn't for everyone. However, the practical effects are VERY well done. Allie's death is a highlight. David Thornton as Art is hilarious and Paul Wiley's music absolutely slaps. However, the plot is simple at best and somewhat nonsensical at worst.

Day 29: Dude Bro Party Massacre III (5/5 ⭐️) A perfect spiritual successor to Scary Movie. Its nonsensical humor is further elevated by its silly kills and its purposely shitty acting. The VHS aesthetic is well utilized and gives it charm. It's also very homoerotic. If you're into that, I mean.

Day 28: Critters (3/5 ⭐️) The primary family is rather uninteresting to watch, which isn't great for a movie like this. However, the antics of both the bounty hunters and the Crites add enough to keep it from being too boring to watch. Surprisingly good practical effects too, considering the budget.

Day 27: ThanksKilling (0.5/5 ⭐️) And now you've gone and left me. You were my... you were my friend. You got killed by a turkey. Who's not... who's not my friend. Oh Billy, Billy, Billy. You were my... my best friend. We were meant to be best friends forever. And now you're... a dead best friend.

Day 26: Pumpkinhead (4/5 ⭐️) It's clear Pumpkinhead was made on a lower budget, but it manages to be entertaining despite that. Its unique rural aesthetic (including music by Richard Stone) and all-around solid acting help it overcome some of its technical shortcomings. Surprisingly deep message.

Day 25: Gremlins (5/5 ⭐️) I've seen this movie a few times before, but I forget how hilarious it is. Even if the beginning is slow, it absolutely makes up for it once the Gremlins come in. A ton of unique designs. The score is also worth highlighting. Jerry Goldsmith's music enhances every scene.

Day 24: The Mist (4.5/5 ⭐️) A slow burn. It takes a while for everything to come together. However, it's absolutely worth sitting through the first half for the second. Phenomenal acting, especially from Thomas Jane and William Sadler. If nothing else, the ending will stick with you for a long time.

Day 23: Ju-On: The Grudge (5/5 ⭐️) Such an unique experience. Its non-linear storytelling makes it all the more enjoyable when you begin connecting the narrative together and its strange effects will definitely unsettle you. Kayako and her family are as terrifying as they are sympathetic. Fantastic.

Day 22: Cocaine Bear (2/5 ⭐️) This movie features several main characters, almost none of which are fleshed out. Its dialogue is rather poorly written. Its plot is nonsensical, with the bear somehow being hyper intelligent and using coke as a power-up. It is not good. I hope this gets a sequel.

Day 21: Zombieland (4.5/5 ⭐️) Still hilarious all these years later. Columbus, Tallahassee, and Little Rock are all entertaining characters, although Wichita is a bit weaker. Jesse Eisenberg brings a lot of charm to his role. Despite a weak final act, Zombieland is a fun time throughout.

Day 20: Wolf Man (2/5 ⭐️) A rather boring film featuring a protagonist who's dull at best and unlikeable at worst. If you can sit through a mediocre script with some unforunate stereotypes, you'll at least be impressed by the well crafted Wolf Man makeup and by some of the acting.

Day 19: Invisible Man (5/5 ⭐️) The movie may be short, but incredibly sweet. The writing is hilarious, yet the madness plaguing Jack Griffin and the crimes he commit feel serious enough to make it genuinely engaging. Its practical effects have aged surprisingly well. Absolutely worth watching.

Day 18: Lisa Frankenstein (5/5 ⭐️) For a movie about a shambling zombie, it's full of so much life. The bright color grading and occasional piece of stylistic animation will please your eyes while the witty humor and the fantastic romance between Lisa and her monster will please your mind.

Day 17: The Birds (4.5/5 ⭐️) While Hitchcock's directing can lead to poor pacing at some parts, it can also create fantastic tension. Despite its odd premise, it manages to entertain and sometimes unsettle. While its use of greenscreen hasn't aged the best, the animal stunts are very well done.

Day 16: Lost Boys (4/5 ⭐️) The plot is very weirdly paced, leading to some odd moments... But dammit, there's a lot of charm. It's so cheesy, it wraps back around to being genuinely enjoyable. Once Cry Little Sister plays the third time, you'll get it. The grandfather drives through his house. Peak.

Day 15: AfrAId (0.5/5 ⭐️) I could discuss the movie's confusing, self-contradictory plot. I could mention how it seems to entirely lack a middle act. I could even bring up its terrible ending. But I think @cooberteehee.bsky.social would do a better job than I ever could explaining why AfrAId sucks.

Day 14: Heart Eyes (1.5/5 ⭐️) I'd rather watch a bad film than an insecure film. Unfortunately, Heart Eyes is extremely insecure in its script. Lots of unfunny jokes, even during serious moments, and lampshading that made my eyes roll. At least the killer has a fun design and the gore is fantastic.

Day 13: Silence of the Lambs (5/5 ⭐️) Haunting. A stellar script, a stellar cast, stellar cinematography. Everything about this film is fantastic. The topic of gender is handled shockingly well given the time period. While not perfect, it's still discussed with a level of tact that's appreciated.

Day 12: Basket Case (1/5 ⭐️) So like, obviously Basket Case is a bad movie. I don't think I need to explain why. But it's also a really, really funny movie. Almost every line in this film is delivered in the worst possible way and it's fantastic. Also got to see Kevin Hentenryck's penis, 10/10
