David Jonsson is a great addition. He was fantastic in Alien Romulus.
I don’t have a review for Denshattack, but I still wanted to share that it’s one of my favorite games this year. It’s totally delightful and surprisingly relevant, and it pays loving tribute to classic 2000s action games. This would feel right at home on the Sega Dreamcast and PS2. It’s fantastic.
I sometimes think about Rusty in Armored Core 6 landing that railgun shot from a continent away, and I just smile. "I won't miss..."
Steadily getting back into Tekken 8. My playstyle is still a bit spotty, but I do have my moments. 😎
New book haul. The Andor art book is pretty incredible so far — I love reading about the production of this show. Very excited to give Dungeon Crawler Carl and There is no Anti Memetics Division a read next.
The final season of The Bear was spectacular. I wish we could get another since this season had such a great boost of energy compared to S3 and 4. It makes me want more. Also, the tributes to Tony Scott and Rob Reiner were lovely. I’m gonna miss this show. 😭
I’m really looking forward to talking more about The Blood of Dawnwalker in a few weeks. 👍🏽
I really dig the wave of anti-AI art I’ve seen lately. @earthliberationart.bsky.social
It’s now time for Hollywood to adapt this internet horror classic.
I’ve been helping my DSA chapter organize movie nights and it’s the best. I really enjoy hanging out chopping it up with friends.
Full circle moment. I hope interviewers will ask him about the Fallout New Vegas launch party.
Also, special shout out to developer Out of the Blue Games for putting this message in the closing credits. Much respect to them for putting a powerful and very timely statement for the video game industry.
I’m getting closer to my birthday this month, and I’m super tired by everything going on in the world. But still, I’m super grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and I’m proud of all the work I’ve done throughout my career. I’m glad I’m still keeping at it.
I’ve been using the Steam Controller 2 for over a week, and it’s excellent. It’s a massive improvement over the original. 👍🏽
When I’m not writing about video games and being a caregiver, I was working at a non-profit helping Redwood City get tenant protections placed on the Fall election ballot. It was my last day, and this was a fantastic experience that I will miss. It was great to touch grass and help folks in need.
I shared this on Instagram earlier and just wanted to bring it here (ignore the typo, lol.) Freelancing in games media is super tough these days, but I’m really proud of how I’ve been able to make it work for me. It was deeply humbling to get praise my peers as well. I’m proud of my work at GDC. 👍🏽
Sometimes when I feel especially low about myself, I just think about this scene from Andor. "Eyes open, possibilities everywhere."
