British liberal. Apparently technically a "Bluesky Elder", according to that one labeller. Also: here be sportsposting. ↙️↙️↙️ 🔶🦊 She/Her
POV: you have just made the - frankly ill-advised and slightly unsafe - walk out to the incredibly sensible new city border, that definitely reflects how it works.
Okay, it figured out that Kika Nazareth was on the pitch (after she got subbed off), and is now pretending that Mapi Leon never was instead. (...and Ona Batlle is still on the 'on the pitch right now' bit of the panel. She was subbed off in the 59th minute.)
I should probably have followed the SWPL more actively instead of checking in just now but, good lord, as if Liv McLoughlin's weekend wasn't bad enough already...
It's still there! I think one big issue for the WSL [the organisation] is how little 'mainstream' press there is about WSL2. (like, just the basics of match reports and that - there's noticeable reluctance to cover all, uh, 6 (soon to be [gasp] 7!) WSL1 games a week)
Given that people do make up fake Trump posts... yeah, the "I'm glad he's dead" one re: Mueller is real, yeesh: truthsocial.com/@realDonaldT... [link, obviously, goes direct to Truth Social]
... I wasn't familiar with it until just now and, not gonna lie, I was really not expecting something out of 'The Man In The High Castle'. What the hell.
Ngl, I think they did go a bit too hard and the concept is, perhaps, flawed. ('banish[ing]... Your life goals, thanks to your entertainment choices"?! Like, the order of magnitude is probably, uh, off for this to be not-absurd)
So, as part of the quasi-superstitious feelings that oft afflict sports fans, I decided to watch the Man U vs Liverpool highlights and... wow the WSL coverage team really does love a Live Passmoor Reaction, huh? He's not even managing one of the teams in this game! www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8wS...
On the one hand, I should probably have shown my support for womens' sports by tuning in to Sunderland vs LCL. On the other hand, that's not exactly an appetising tie for a neutral, even without accounting for LCL's new style of play looking like, well: (NB: this is at full time)
Oh yeah the Women's League Cup Quarter Finals were today, wonder what happened in the- My god what the hell happened there.
Obvs I hope for a swift recovery, but something absolutely sends me about the opening paragraph of this article accidentally implying that Grace Fisk got injured on purpose to leave Sarina short at centre-back. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...
Well, I can't say that this is a big surprise... (actually, I guess it is a little bit of a surprise that it's being posted about now, but I guess it is a high profile case)
Also, like, they're doing that "look how hardcore I am" act with his official portrait as his profile picture, which honestly only adds to the disconnect.
Watching the WSL Highlights for Aston Villa vs Leicester and, uh, it's not the WSL 2 (though this _is_ on the WSL given the vid description is wrong); the attacks shown were mostly Aston Villa (and the saves Leitzig)... and _the video itself_ says both teams already have "one win apiece".
If I had a pound for every time shirt pulling went unnoticed by the ref in that game I'd definitely be quids in. E.g. I don't think this choice of pic for the write up is even deliberate in highlighting it.
For context, given it's different in the preview, this is the headline that shows up on the actual website:
Looking at my FPL team after free hitting to a. target Man U's hitherto lackluster defence and b. also getting some Spurs players in for their easy game like:
In other footballing news... uh... I guess it's a good thing for Scotland that losing margins don't go into the coefficient calculation.
