Your friendly neighbourhood Jewish communist. Hope you like weird books, bad dungeon synth and worse movies. He/him, free Palestine, trans rights are human rights
Folks, Hellboy told me not to enter into a pact with Nuada Silverlance and the exiles of elfland, but he's not very smart. Not very smart. Keeps breaking off his own horns. Not a guy you want to take advice from.
I'm not sure which of these two pulls ahead, but Callisto and Faith both dropping within a year of each other probably didn't do me any favours.
I'm happy I have the right collection of brain problems to genuinely love being the only one in a movie theatre for a dumb horror movie
The image alone almost put me into a State and then I got to the interview where Brace is explaining to a very apologetic Shawn what a podcast is and that it doesn't matter how long his answers are, if they can push this thing to 2 hours the hogs will gobble it all down
I know we're not supposed to judge things by their cover, but you ever see some album art and without even having heard a single song off it, go "yeah that's for me"
fun fact: I've been to the Wilhelm Reich museum in Rangeley, Maine, and actually got to sit in one of the cloudbusters, a giant cannon that was meant to harness orgasmic power to create thunderstorms and torrential downpours I had a weird childhood
I do appreciate that, just through player dressup options, every party in FFXIV feels appropriately Final Fantasy in that it runs the spectrum from glowing dancing twink to DARK SOULS as you swordfight your way through a cyberpunk airship to fight the elf pope or local elder god.
You always risk bumping into some vile cretins in the metalhead community, but it's definitely worth it whenever you run across stuff like the Bolt Thrower guys chasing nazis with baseball bats or Sanders of Nile auctioning off merch to pay for medical care for a beagle found on the side of the road
"Kermit's just a puppet" I don't think a puppet could ride a bike this effectively, he's obviously real and strong and my friend
I think my favourite thing to come out of FFXIV so far has been a doomtrain fight where the evil possessed train grows giant phantom arms and suplexes *you*
Most of the script from Crackers Don't Matter has been an intrusive thought for 25 years
I saw this and my first thought was "Hahn performing Mother Knows Best would have every gay man I know like this"
It's good when the sundowning president starts talking like a 90s anime villain, right
Oh and tanking this motherfucker right here sent a chill down my spine every time I pulled him for most of vanilla. No giant monster in any soulslike has shit on Lord Nagafen when you're the guild tank and come up to the lower part of his ankle and you've got a new healer on roster tonight.
Title screen iconic to me... cheating a bit since EQ didn't *really* have a traditional title screen, but I spent so much of ages 14-16 looking at either this login screen or the loading splash of the vanilla, Kunark or Velious eras - probably Kunark more than the others, that was my peak timewaster
I did not expect a game to engage with the eurocentrism of naming conventions and approaching it with a certain level of maturity, where your character is assumed to have come from a background of Gondorian ignorance and must talk with local scholars and indigenous people to make any progress.
I am a miserable, cynical and awful creature, but this dog who hates literally every other man on this godless rock loves me and tries to use me as a pillow whenever I go to bed
Spent yesterday at the Auckland museum and while this is first and foremost a really beautiful representation of the three manu that guard Pukekawa, my jrpg-poisoned brain wants to know what reconfiguration will unlock the secret boss under the building.
