using modern numbers while talking about a ban that happened a hundred years ago sure seems like deflecting to me.

Yet 100 years ago, women’s football was frequently attracting bigger crowds than men’s games. This was largely down to WWI, when any man fit enough to play football had been sent to fight on the frontline. Back home, women not only took their jobs in the factories, they also took their places on the field.

By 1921 there were around 150 women’s teams in England. 'Dick, Kerr’s Ladies' was the name of the the unofficial England team, and the definite celebrities of the football scene. A Boxing Day match in 1920 drew in crowds of nearly 70,000 to see them beat the St Helen’s Ladies 4-0.

Yet once war ended and the men filtered home, women found themselves being quietly pushed back to their ‘conventional’ places in society. In December 1921, the FA put a ban on women’s football, declaring it to be “quite unsuitable for females and ought not to be encouraged". The ban wasn’t lifted until 1971, having a hugely damaging effect on the game.

messing around with modding dragons in Dwarf Fortress to be fully sapient critters. apparently these two can't quite figure eachother out.

Well, you already have my all-time favorite mod right there. Create is good if you want to make a Factory in your Minecraft(and the goggles have a dragon model, screenshot #2). Minecolonies is interesting if you want a colony sim. Sophisticated Backpacks is Useful, and also has a dragon model now.

This is all I have of myself. It's a mockup precursor to a ref-sheet commission that's been in limbo for years(I don't want to get into it). There's been a couple small changes since; snout shape (see pfp) and adding a second pair of ears. One day I'll look into trying again to get a full ref sheet

Extinction Burst

While extinction, when implemented consistently over time, results in the eventual decrease of the undesired behavior, in the short term the subject might exhibit what is called an extinction burst. An extinction burst will often occur when the extinction procedure has just begun. This usually consists of a sudden and temporary increase in the response's frequency, followed by the eventual decline and extinction of the behavior targeted for elimination. Novel behavior, or emotional responses or aggressive behavior, may also occur.[2]

Until recently, this was my joke review on Steam for Stellaris. Finally decided to flip it to a negative review because of their inclusion of AI in the 'pRe-CoNcEpT' stage of development since the DLC of The Machine Age back in 2024.
