Today I got to see a woodpeckers tongue 😃

A Hairy Woodpecker utilizing the tiny holes in the in the vinyl to hang on with while he was tapping and using his tongue for possibly licking up aphids.

Revna reports in from the Coastal Trail (again). The only communication Revna gives me on the moose is a distinct sniff in the air similar to a couple of my other dogs. Paying close attention to her pays off. -High tide and a nice breeze. -Here’s looking at you kid 🫎

She met the neighbor across the street and knows where his biscuit stash is in their garage. She is very food motivated. This was my last 3 dogs, they saw the neighbor get home and are now waiting for his biscuit treats. Will get pretty pics of her soon. Today we finish the yard work.

The backside of the 3 Amigo's, Ladybug the Bloodhound, Belle the Spaniel-dachshund, and Mr Chips a Chihuahua-pug. They're laying on the grass at the fence patiently waiting for their biscuits from the oh so nice neighbor.

Revna and I have had two separate occasions of moose encounters. Her behavior is perfect and she's teaching me to all her silent communication skills.

A lush green summer bog filled with Birch and Willow. Dead center is a dark brown yearling bull moose walking away after convincing him we really don't want to be friends.

#Uglydogs I promise to move heaven and earth to guarantee that Miss Revna the Devine has the best life. I will make sure it's filled to the brim with love, companionship, and many adventures never wanting for anything. Their love, devotion and bond was special beyond belief and I will honor that.

From the Seward Hwy Traffic Report on FB.

In the middle of a spruce forest with overcast skies is the two lane Seward Hwy with a mangled guard-rail. A flatbed-semi is jack-knifed across the hwy a few remaining totes still on the trailer. The Fire Dept in the right lane in front. There's fish everywhere.

Just opened my late property tax bill. Seems to be a misprint. Called, they hadn't heard about this yet but I can't be the only one 🤔. Good thing they have the weekend to rectify it. I'll assume the 1st 1/2 is still due on 6/30/26.

Went down a rabbit hole looking thru an 1880's mid-western cookbook. Their coffee recipes have eggs in them🤔 But what might perk up the ears of @arcticvelocipedist.bsky.social is that washed and dried codfish skins are an acceptable replacement for the eggs.😐

"MAKING COFFEE.
"One for the pot" and a heaping table-spoon of ground coffee for each person, is the usual allowance. Mix well, either with a part or the whole of an egg (or codfish skin, washed, dried, and cut in inch pieces, may be used instead of egg), and enough cold water to thoroughly moisten it, place in a well-scalded coffee-boiler, pour in half the quantity of boiling water needed, allowing one pint less of water than there are table-spoons of coffee. Roll a cloth tightly and stop up the nose or spout, thus keeping in all the coffee flavor. Boil rather fast five minutes, stirring down from the top and sides as it boils up, and place on back part of stove or range where it will only simmer for ten or fifteen minutes longer. When ready to serve add the remainder of the boiling water. Or, another..."

So many more questions that need to be asked. Am curious though as the original floor for the ice lasted 32 years with some work How come this new and improved floor put in 2017 is having issues?
